Baby Shower Door Prize Ideas

A door prize is a traditional baby shower game. As each guest arrives, you hand them a small, numbered object such as a rubber duckie, a piece of candy, or a flower. Later during the baby shower, you pick a random number out of a hat, and the person with that number on his or her object wins the door prize. This prize is often the biggest prize of the day, so you'll want to make it something special.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are a great door prize because they will suit anyone who wins. They are great for Jack-and-Jill baby showers or showers with guests of different ages. You can get a gift card to a department store, coffee shop, restaurant or any other place you think your guests may like. How much money you put on it depends on your budget, however, a suggested amount might be $20 or $25.

Gift Basket

This is another good door prize if you're having guests of various ages or of both genders at the baby shower. Some gift basket ideas are a fruit basket, chocolates basket and a coffee or tea basket. You can order gift baskets online or you can make your own, which may be cheaper. To make your own, line a basket with tissue paper and fill it with whatever small goodies you want to put in it. You can include scented candles, an assortment of cookies or fancy chocolates, or different types of flavored coffee and a mug.

Stationery Set

Everyone enjoys receiving handwritten cards in the mail every now and then. A fancy stationery set is a fun idea for a door prize since it will give the door prize winner encouragement to write. A good stationery set should include a pad of paper or cards, matching envelopes, and a pen or pencil.

Beauty Set

If you're having a traditional all-girls shower, this is a door prize many will like. You can get a hand and nails manicure set, makeup kit, bath set, perfume set, foot care set and many other types of beauty sets. If the baby shower you're throwing has a color scheme, you could get a beauty set to match the color scheme.

Candles

Many people love a fancy scented candle. You can take the idea a little further by getting a set of candles in complimenting scents (such as a fruit scents, wintery scents or flower scents) or by getting a matching candle dish or holder to go with the candle.
