Magic Wands for the Little Princess

Supplies Needed:

5/16th X 12" dowel

Metallic pearl-white acrylic paint

Sheer pink ribbon

Sheer lavender ribbon (or color of choice)

Sheer pink and lavender butterflies

Hot glue

Assembly:

Paint the dowel and allow for drying time. Next wind pink ribbon, then lavender ribbon around the dowel placing a dot of glue at the top and bottom of dowel to hold ribbons in place. Glue several butterflies at alternating angles along the dowel; three butterfly's works best with one glued near the top. Next cut several lengths of each color of ribbon and glue to the top of the dowel.

That's it! You know have a magical fairy princess wand. Make several of these and attach to the walls in a pleasing arrangement. For a more formal baby shower use these favors as take-home gifts by making enough to leave one at each place-setting. Not enough time to make that many, just leave one at each table and place a dot under each chair. Just before the baby shower ends announce the guests sitting in the chairs with the dots under them get to take the magical Princess Wand at her table home as a gift from the baby shower hostess. These baby shower favors for little girls could even be placed in small vases in the center of each table in instead of flowers.

Message in a Bottle

Supplies Needed:

Several small baby bottles with lids

Pink ribbon

Pens or pencils

Small squares of notepad paper (preferably decorated with a baby motif stamp)

Several lengths of pink ribbon cut into 6" lengths

Assemby:

Cut and tie a pink ribbon around the neck of the bottle with a tag marked message in a bottle. Leave several pens or pencils and notepads lying around the room for an informal baby shower or on each table for a more formal baby shower. Place several pre-cut lengths of ribbon with each bottle. Baby Shower Favors for Little Girls No. 3

Baby Shower Tree Garland

Supplies Needed:

A small white artificial tree -Or-

A tree branch from the yard stripped of leaves and painted white

Pastel candies (think candy necklaces, they can be found in party supply stores)

Miniature baby shower accessories (such as diaper pins, rattles, bracelets, rocking horses)

Fishing line

Needle

Scissors

Measuring tape

Assembly:

Use a tape measure to determine the length of the garland and cut fishing line to this measurement. String fishing line on a needle and string a miniature baby shower accessory (rocking horse) onto the end before tying a knot. Lay out all of the miniature baby shower accessories and pastel candies until you have a pleasing mix. String the items onto the fishing line tying a knot around each heavier item as you go. Finish the garland with the same item as started with (rocking horse).

Now you have a fun and easy baby shower garland that can be strung onto a baby shower tree. This tree would make a wonderful centerpiece for the gift table. If you use a store bought tree wrap a pink baby wash cloth around the base of the tree. If you choose to make your own tree place rocks or sand into a small coffee can and stick the branch into this. Wrap the coffee can with pink decorative paper and tie a ribbon around it near the top allowing excess paper to hide the sand/rocks. This garland could also be strung on a lampshade, on the wall, hung over the door way. There are many uses for this fun and easy baby shower favor for a little girl.
