Summer is here and what is more refreshing than a dip in the pool with the kids? Imagine how the water feels to your baby who can still remember the warmth and security of your womb. However, the danger of water should always be considered when you step into the pool with your infant. Baby swimming lessons trains your child how to understand and react to the potential perils of water and swimming pools. This is a brief guide of a facility with a proven track record that offers swimming in Keller, Texas.

AquaKids Swim Schools of North Texas has two locations: Keller and Farmers Branch. Both facilities offer year round swimming lessons for babies in heated, indoor pools to prevent too much sun exposure. Licensed swim instructors create a fun learning environment to put babies at ease. Teachers are also CPR and first aid certified to ensure the safety of your child. Swimming lessons can be private, semi-private, or in a group. AquaKids maintains a fully equipped facility complete with changing rooms, changing tables, and cubby holes for shoes. High ceilings and well-lit, ventilated pool rooms create plenty of room for the water slides. Two pools are kept at a comfortable 92 degrees; one for children still in diapers and the other for older kids. An observation room is available for those parents who are just a little nervous about their child.

AquaKids uses a swimming lesson program called AquaSteps developed from 25 years of swimming experience. AquaSteps, as explained on their website, www.aquakids.com, is "a combination of teaching methods and skill levels." Students achieve measurable goals throughout their progress through the program. Each child is evaluated for their skill level before beginning swimming lessons. The AquaSteps program begins with babies aged between six and 36 months where they will learn baby swimming lessons like floating and jumping to their parent. Baby classes have a student to teacher ratio of 6:1. Parents are required to attend classes with their babies. Classes continue to other lessons as the child achieves new skill levels.

AquaKids is a member of the US Swim School Association. The Keller location offers summer classes with one lesson per week for 14 weeks for $165. Swim Camp is also available with one swimming lesson per day for two weeks for $179. Registration for fall swimming classes begin July 1st. Call (817) 745-1000 for more details about the swimming program or to book a birthday party.
