Dr. Duck by H. M. Ehrlich- A cute story about Dr. Duck, who goes around treating his animal patients. Eventually though, he falls sick. His patients take good care of him and soon he is back to normal. It makes a good book for either babies or toddlers. There is also the related book Dr. Duck and the New Babies.
I Wish that I Had Duck Feet by Dr. Seuss- Not all about ducks, but it has the word duck in the title! This fun, cheery rhyming story is about a boy who wishes he has different animal parts (including duck feet), but realizes that each would have its drawbacks. The rhyming storyline makes it great for either babies or toddlers.
Daisy and the Egg by Jane Simmons- One of many books about Daisy the duck. In this book, Daisy's new brother or sister is about to hatch from its egg at any time. There is a problem though, and it doesn't hatch when expected. Daisy doesn't lose hope and keeps the egg warm until her new little brother, Pip, is born! This makes a great book for a new big brother or sister, and teaches kids the ever-important concept of hope. Other books about Daisy include: Come Along Daisy; Quack, Daisy, QUACK!; and Goodnight Daisy, Goodnight Pip.
Dawdle Duckling by Toni Buzzeo- A cute and colorfully illustrated book about a little duckling who loves to dawdle and daydream while on a walk with its mother. Great for both toddlers and babies.
Little Quack by Lauren Thompson- This story is about 5 little ducklings taking their first swim. The little ducklings learn about bravery in this simple tale. It's great for both babies, who will enjoy the simple text and big, bright illustrations, and toddlers, who will enjoy counting along as each duck makes their way into the water. Other book about Little Quack: Little Quack's New Friend, Little Quack's ABCs, and Little Quack Loves Colors.
