And Bunnies!

Vanessa Bartlemus
Looking for rabbit-themed books for your little bunny? Or do you need a bunny-themed gift idea for a baby or toddler? Here is a list of bunny rabbit books sure to become a favorite of your child's.

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney- This adorable book is about Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare and how much they love each other. Each time Little Nutbrown Hare explains how much he loves Big Nutbrown Hare ("as high as I can reach!", "all the way down the lane as far as the river"), Big Nutbrown Hare outdoes Little Nutbrown Hare! Each tries to explain that he loves the other more. This is a great book for either babies or toddlers.

The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter- A great classic tale of a little rabbit who disobeys his mother and what happens when he does. A word of warning though: in the beginning, it's mentioned that Peter Rabbit's father was baked into a pie by Mrs. McGregor! That part can easily be left out when reading the book to your toddler. It is a bit long; some toddlers may not have the patience to sit through a reading of the whole book. It does feature beautiful illustrations that will catch your toddler's attention.

Max and Ruby by Rosemary Wells- These books will be especially appealing to a toddler who is a fan of the T.V. cartoon Max and Ruby! These books are about two little bunnies, Ruby and her little brother Max, who's always trying to join in with what she's doing. Both younger and older siblings will relate to the cute storylines.

That's not my Bunny by Fiona Watt- This touch-and feel board book is great for babies just learning to hold and "read" books on their own. The book is sturdy and will hold up well to a baby's exploring, and the textured pages will keep your baby entertained as babies love to feel different textures! The text is short and simple and the book has big, colorful illustrations.

Pat the Bunny by Dorothy Kunhardt- This classic touch and feel book is great for both toddlers and babies. They will love feeling the textures, looking in the mirror, playing peekaboo, and interacting with each page. It features simple words and simple illustrations reminiscent of old times.

The Velveteen Rabbit by Margrey Williams- Another great classic story, about how toys become real. It has a beautiful, sweet storyline and is best for toddlers and older kids. It is sure to become one of you and your child's favorite books.
