Baby Trend Walker with Toy Bar - Avoid at All Costs!

When my I saw that my son was a late bloomer with rolling over and crawling, I wanted to buy him a walker to help him strengthen his legs to learn how to start walking. I went out to the store and bought the Baby Trend Walker With Toy Bar. I could not wait for my husband to come home and out it together. I remember when I was a baby I had a walker too. It was pretty similar to this one. To be honest with you I do not really remember it, but I have seen plenty of home videos with me racing down the hallway in my walker. I figured if it helped me walk then it would help my son.

The next morning I came downstairs and it was all put together. My husband said it was pretty hard to assemble. I was surprised at this because it doesn't seem that there are a lot of different parts that would make it difficult to assemble. Well, I put my son in it for the first time that morning. He kind of just stood in it. He didn't really know what to do with it. Then he started moving. The only problem was that he started moving backwards. I don't know if this is normal or just him. I was so excited that he was actually walking, even if it was backwards.

My excitement didn't last very long. Within 10 minutes, he was moving backwards around the whole house and starting crashing into the walls. Now I don't care about the walls, I care that my son almost cracked his head open by smashing into the corner of the wall backwards. Needless to say, that was the last time we used the Baby Trend Walker With Toy Bar. Another feature that is not that great is the toy bar. There really isn't much on there for your child to play with. The walker doesn't collapse easily to fold for easy storage even they claim it does. So now, I have this big walker down in the basement collecting dust. What a waste of money. I really wish I could have returned it. The maximum weight for this product is a child no more than 32 pounds.

I cannot stress enough, do not buy this product. It is not worth your money. We bought it from Babies R Us or $29.99. When I think back to my son almost cracking his head, I still get sick from the thought. I think this product should be taken off the market. It is a poorly made, cheap plastic, extremely dangerous walker. I do not recommend buying the Baby Trend Walker With Toy Bar.

Harold.....first of all I am not an IDIOT. If you really read my article carefully never once did I mention that I left my child alone. Secondly, why don't you check your spelling before you post a nasty comment (along....you meant alone)...and last but not least....please feel free to check out some more of my articles and continue supporting my monthly financial payout. It was a pleasure doing business with you.

Lady, you are an idiot. How on earth is it the products fault that your kid learned to go backward first? You can't just put them in something and leave them along.

I am sorry to hear that you didn't like it and that you felt it was dangerous for your son.
I have the same walker and I really like it. I used it with my first son, now 3 and walking forward, despite the inital backwards walk in the walker. Now, my second son it using it and loves it. He too started moving backward but is now going forward. He loves the freedom of getting around.

You're right, there aren't many toys on it and it doesn't fold easily for storage. I put a few extra toys on it from his play mat, they hook onto the bar, and he is happy with that.

I have actually recommended it to some friends
