Baby-Gaga.Com As a Resource for All Women

Crystal
My love affair with the pregnancy and parenting site, Baby-gaga.com started back in April of 2008. I was pregnant with my son and hungry for knowledge. What can I say? I'm a googler. I had never been pregnant before and although my husband and I had been trying to conceive for eight months, I had no idea what to expect.

At first I tried a few different sites that are very well advertised on the social networking scene. I quickly discovered that most of them were filled to brimming with drama, and more often that not my questions and posts were ignored. I found baby-gaga.com, or BG as I will refer to it from now on out, while searching Google for information on fetal movement. I remember being so impressed with the wealth of knowledge this site held. Literally thousands of mothers, mothers to be, and women trying to conceive, all in one place sharing their experiences.

Things have not always been bunnies and rainbows on BG. Women are by nature hormonal, competitive, and sometimes downright catty. When you take thousands of us and cram us into a place where even the most controversial opinions are shared freely, tempers are bound to flare. Luckily the site is very well moderated and there is a special place for threads that become a nuisance. They are sent straight to "The Drama Corner", or TDC as it is abbreviated. As it happens, I find TDC to be one of my favorite forms or amusement. You'll never find so many trolls in one place anywhere else.

Another of the threads that I frequent is the "Parents of Toddlers" thread. There I can find other mothers that sympathize with my everything-gets-thrown-in-the-toilet type woes. Many of the ladies in this thread were right along side me when I first joined and was a nervous pregnant first timer. It's like when you go to school with the same people from kindergarten to graduation. There is a certain level of camaraderie in these threads.

BG is a site that I would recommend to any woman. Whether she be trying to conceive for the first time, or a seasoned grandmother. So long as said woman carries a strong backbone and a sense of humor, she'll find her place within the many threads offered. Most of the regulars on BG are helpful and courteous, but I have seen some who have a personality as corrosive as batter acid. Lucky for me I have not had any run ins with these women myself. With that said, if you ever want to know anything from "At what temperature should I take my newborn to the hospital" to "Where is the best place to buy bras for the well endowed woman", check BG out. You're sure to find at least twenty different answers to your one question.
