Bachelor Brad Womack Picks Emily Maynard!

Bad night for Chantal O'Brien! Brad Womack says his heart belongs to Emily Maynard. Ouch!

Two-time Bachelor Brad, 38, finally got down on his knees and proposed to single mom Maynard last night. Was America shocked with his choice? Not so sure.

Chantal O is young, vibrant, and full of life.

Emily M. is beautiful, full of life, and a single mom.

At the end of the day, there is a huge difference between these two ladies. Brad picked his favorite: Emily all the way! As if we didn't know he had fallen in love with Emily since the beginning, he admits as much on the show.

Can "The Bachelor" winner move past her fears? Even though Emily admits that she has a tendency of jinxing herself, will she ever learn from her mistakes? Having faced heartache once, what better time to throw caution to the wind, grab her man, and hold tight?

Chris Harrison informed the audience that Brad and Emily had already broken up once.Yikes! Brad alluded to tabloids and the pressures the couple had endured the previous months. At that moment, the gasps came from around the set as everyone's heart went out to him and his lovely fiancée.

With emotion, he said, "It's been a tough go." This man has truly fallen in love with the blond-headed beauty. What happens now? Engagement, marriage, or was everything off?

The almost-fairy tale couple sat holding hands, whispering, "I love you." It was as if they needed everyone to just evaporate so they could kiss and make up. Hopefully, when the cameras die down, they can do just that.

As soon as Chris mentioned the breakup, Brad quickly interjected, "Before everyone overreacts, I don't know if people will understand what couples go through while the show is airing. So, it's been a rollercoaster, and I've always been very honest about it. I want to be very real, but I also want everyone to know that when, not if, when this works out, that we did go through the trials and tribulations that any relationship goes through, and we made it through."

Harrison: "I'm sorry this hasn't been a fairytale."

Womack: "Yeah, but what relationship is a fairytale? . . . This is real life."

The tension was palpable as Emily and Brad hugged. Emily admitted to putting up walls because she is afraid of losing love again. She also alludes to Brad's temper. Brad has a temper?

News flash to Womack: A single mom will have issues if you have anger issues. Might want to work on that because that will send her packing her bags quicker than you can blink.

Counseling 101 began with "Bachelor/ette" couples who are happy and still together:

Trista and Ryan met on "The Bachelorette," got married, had kids and lived happily ever after.

Jason and Molly met on "The Bachelor" and got married last year.

Ali and Roberto from "The Bachelorette" met last summer on and are engaged and look happier than ever!

There you go. It can be done. You can be on this reality show and come out with a "real" relationship that has nothing to do with the show. It takes communication, patience, and TLC. With a sigh of relief, we now know that they are still a "new" couple.

The show ended with Brad and Emily watching their engagement for the first time. They sealed the night as Brad placed her engagement ring back on her hand. Yes, she arrived on the set without an engagement ring. We have a sneaky suspicion that the single mom and bachelor have a rocky road ahead of them. Hopefully, they will both learn to change and be able to give and take.
