Bachelor Pad Episode 3 Recap: Kissing Contest Saves Peyton & Dave and Gia & the Weatherman Sent Home (August 23, 2010-ABC)

With 15 contestants remaining on the Bachelor Pad, and $250,000 at stake, trust and loyalty are things that no can take for granted.

Last week's show proved that point when Gia told Craig that he was going to get the immunity rose and she gave it to Wes instead. Then during the elimination ceremony, Nikki also was persuaded by Kiptyn to change her vote, which sealed Craig's fate. Similarly, Kiptyn was convinced by Krisily not to trust Jessie, and his changed vote sent Jessie home.

Tonight proved to be no different. The difficulty is in figuring out who is being genuine in love, and who will say anything he or she needs to say to win a quarter of a million dollars.

Kissing competition

The 15 remaining contestants this week woke up to host Chris Harrison and co-host Melissa Rycroft-Strickland sharing the rules of this week's competition--a kissing contest.

With teeth brushed and everyone (let's hope) minty-fresh, the men lined up first, as each blindfolded woman was kissed by each one of the men. Then it was the women's turn, with the men blindfolded. Each voted for the "best kisser," and the bachelor and bachelorette who received the most votes won the competition and immunity for the week.

Wes was not crazy about kissing women who had kissed so many men before him, admitting he was somewhat of a "germaphobe" and getting sick over the thought of it.

Natalie and Elizabeth did not seem to care about germs and both played "tonsil hockey" with the unaware. Natalie even said she "would kiss everyone in the house for like 20 dollars."

Gia and Ashley dropped out of the competition. As a teacher, Ashley wanted to set a good example for her students. Gia started the competition and kept her kisses very innocent. Halfway through, the visibly upset Gia dropped out of the petition saying that she "didn't think everyone was going to turn into porn stars."

David and Peyton were voted as the "best kissers" and received immunity roses.

The dates

David chose Nikki, Krisily, and Natalie to go on the Las Vegas date with him, reminding all that "what goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas." Natalie, who will "do anything (to win) the money," went topless in the pool. David, claiming to like her free-spiritedness and possibility of finding love and winning the money with her as an ally, gave her the rose for the evening.

The two spent the night together in the "fantasy suite." And what went on in Vegas will stay there, as they agreed that they would keep their romance under wraps, since the others in the mansion want to break up the couples during elimination.

Peyton chose Kovacs, Kiptyn, and Jesse B. and they went to the race track on their date. On camera, Kiptyn admittedly lied to Peyton to get the rose, and Kovacs feels that Elizabeth is "ruining everything" for him. Despite the lies by the others to sway her, Peyton gave Jesse B. the rose and the fantasy suite date.

More games and the elimination

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Wes' was intent on breaking up couples and doing what he could to save Gia, as he made his rounds to set strategies into place. He threatened that if certain men voted off Gia, instead of Elizabeth, they "would be next."

During the elimination ceremony, Jonathan, "The Weatherman," was sent home, clearly the underdog in the house.

Elizabeth and Gia received the same number of votes, so as the winner of the kissing competition, David had to make the instantaneous decision, claiming "life isn't fair." He opted to keep Elizabeth around another week and sent Gia home.

Wes' heart sunk, and Gia went home having fallen for Wes, despite having the boyfriend back home. Gia cried, "The money isn't everything," and claimed Bachelor Pad was worst than her Bachelor experience on Jake's season.

Next week sure to get tense

The sneak preview showed next week's game daring all to tell the cold truth about one another.

The men are all strong contestants, so the gauntlets are likely going to be thrown down and the duels will begin. Gia's words to Wes, before she left the mansion: "You better win." Wes will be out for blood with a vengeance.

With Elizabeth and Natalie willing to do anything to win the money, they seem to be the most predictable of the women.

The competition will bring out the cattiness in the women, though some of the women seem to be playing the game very coolly. With all of the attention paid to the guys, and on Elizabeth and Natalie, the women that may just sneak in under the radar are Gwen and Nikki.

Though it is uncertain who will be sent home next week, the guarantee is there will be more tears, fights, twists and turns, Bachelor Pad style.

Bachelor Pad airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.

During next week's episode on August 30, ABC will announce the contestants on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars.
