Bachelor Spin Off: Bachelor Pad Scheduled to Premiere on August 9, 2010

Bachelor fans should rejoice as a new spin off series of the popular ABC reality TV show is being planned. The new series will be called "Bachelor Pad" and will have twenty former contestants from the previous sixteen seasons of The Bachelor and previous five seasons of TheBachelorette.

What Can We Expect from Bachelor Pad?

In this The Bachelor meets Real World, we will find twenty buff and beautiful hotties from previous seasons of the Bachelor and Bachelorette living it up and looking for love together in a large house. The concept of throwing Bachelor all stars together was inspired by many of the real life relationships that have cropped up between former contestants. Host Chris Harrison will join the cast of Bachelor Pad hosting a series of weekly competitions. Each week one house member will be evicted with one contestant set to win a cash prize. According to news reports, ABC has ordered seven episodes of the new Bachelor Pad which is set to premiere on August 9, 2010, following the finale of season six of The Bachelorette.

Which Former Bachelor /Bachelorette Contestants Might We See on Bachelor Pad?

There has been no confirmation of specific Bachelor or Bachelorette cast members who will be joining the cast of Bachelor Pad. News reports do state that several former Bachelor and Bachelorette winners are on board and may make up some of the potential housemates. Could we find Jake Pavelka and new fiancé Vienna Girardi among the mix? It seems to be a possibility. Jake has demonstrated his love of the spotlight by appearing on ABC's Dancing with the Stars, though one just has to wonder when the pilot will head back to his real job. Could former Bachelorette Jillian Harris and fiancé Ed Swiderski be two of the cast members? The two have already set a wedding date, so I think chances are they will not be making an appearance. With 13 seasons of Bachelor contestants and 5 seasons of Bachelorette contestants there will be plenty of potential housemates to choose from (and let's not roll out the possibility of newest Bachelorette, Ali Fedotowsky perhaps joining the cast).

Whoever is chosen to be part of Housemates, the chances are good with the past successes of the Bachelor franchise that season one of the Bachelor Pad will be just the beginning.

everyone hates vienna. they love to dog her. i don't believe she is the bad guy. i was at work when i was forced to watch the bachelor. after the 1st episode with hunky jake, i had to see who he chose. vienna was an ok choice. this is t.v. entertainment. people love to hate for silly reasons. she's alright.

Oh no, say it isn't so! I'm getting burned out on it now, especially since I'm not all that excited about Ali being the next Bachelorette. Cheers
