Bachelorette Finale Has Many Wondering Who Will Be Next Bachelor
Will One of the Guys Ali Doesn't Pick Be the Next Bachelor?
It doesn't seem likely that Chris would get the call if he does in fact get shunned by Ali. He just seems so laid back that producers of a show like The Bachelor probably wouldn't see him as a potential star like those who have preceded him. Let's face it-he's probably too nice of a guy to fit the mold producers of a show like The Bachelor. Roberto, on the other hand, would be extremely attractive to a show like The Bachelor if Ali chooses the "no-winner" route. Roberto has the looks and probably slight more ability to be controversial than the vanilla Chris. This is no slam on Chris-I think it would be awesome to see a normal guy get the opportunity to be the next Bachelor. It just seems unlikely that ABC would see it as a good fit. They want juice and controversy-after all, that makes for good television. They could probably get girls seriously cat-fighting over a guy like Roberto. Chris, on the other hand, would probably be the calming factor that producers of The Bachelor probably wouldn't exactly want. The bottom line is that Chris and Roberto, who are comparatively both nice guys, are completely different in terms of reality television.
So who will be the next Bachelor remains a question we won't have the answer to for several days. Unless the next Bachelor is revealed after The Bachelorette Finale or on The Final Rose. Viewers will watch the 3 hour marathon with only sneaky suspicions on Monday night. The rumors and spoilers have only indicated that Chris will not get chosen. I can't imagine he would be the next Bachelor. I wish he would be-but I don't think producers of the show would voluntarily go in that direction. Roberto, if shunned, would be prime material for the next Bachelor.
Maybe ABC would finally choose to start with a fresh new Bachelor? The audience build up with characters like Jake, Ali, Deanna and Jason have certainly provided The Bachelor and The Bachelorette with great starts. People feel like they know these people well before the first episode even begins. That formula has allowed viewers to get attached to the incoming Bachelor or Bachelorette candidates. All of the candidates have been rejected-and that also makes viewers feel more compelled to vicariously follow along with the journey for those people to find true love. It's certainly working so I think producers of The Bachelor will most likely stick with it.
But here's where it might not happen. In the scenario where Ali picks Roberto, that leaves second place Chris and third place Frank. Frank has a girlfriend and I don't think ABC would view Chris as potential reality television gold. So who would they cast as the next Bachelor in that situation? Could it be Jesse-who is going to soon be on Bachelor Pad? It seems like ABC will finally need to start over and break up the serial monotony of choosing past losers if Roberto gets picked by Ali. If not, Roberto is a no-brainer. It's funny that "who could be the next Bachelor" has become almost as intriguing and fun to speculate as who actually wins on The Bachelorette finale. Maybe we'll find out tomorrow night-or maybe we'll have to wait until after Bachelor Pad to see who gets the nod.
