At present, Back to Basics is serving their community in the way that the community demands. With economic issues hitting small areas like this in a hard way, people have chosen to cook at home more and eat out less. This has hit special interest restaurants as well as fine dining restaurants in an especially acute manner. Back to Basics responded to the change of interests by catering to it.
While you can still go to Back to Basics and enjoy a healthy fruit smoothie, you won't be getting cooked foods. Instead, patrons of this health store and deli can enjoy a smoothie while they shop for organic supplies to meet their cooking needs. You can also have some fresh fruit or vegetables as you enjoy your fruit smoothie, organic hot chocolate or coffee.
The owners of Back to Basics also demonstrate their dedication to the community in a variety of other ways, like food drives over the holidays and weekly specials.
For instance, patrons can enjoy gluten-free product shopping with a 10% discount taken off of regular prices every Wednesday and Friday. Every second Tuesday of the month, shoppers can enjoy 15% off of supplements and body care products.
Another facet of Back to Basics that I enjoy is the free Demo days. On these days shoppers can try new products and foods that they may not have tried before. This is a great way to learn about organic living without having to spend a lot of money on a product you may not like or enjoy. Demo days at this venue are not like demos at other restaurants or stores. Here, you not only get to try a free product, but you can learn about all of the benefits and other details about the product because these Demo days aren't just about product sharing. They're about education that can help people learn how to live a healthier lifestyle.
Of course, the friendly atmosphere at Back to Basics is a welcome change from the usually hi-speed service without a smile that you might find at some chain restaurants. Those who work at Back to Basics aren't just doing a job. They are doing a community service that can't be found in other restaurants and stores. They welcome you in a manner that tells you they are ready to serve as well as to educate and answer any questions you may have. Given the constant research that the owner is involved in as she tries to find suitable products and health solutions, you're sure to learn something new every time you visit this organic restaurant and deli.
