These healthier snack crackers contain no hydrogenated oils, or artificial colors and flavors. One of the best things about Back to Nature is their packaging, which is made from 100% recycled paperboard. Unfortunately the interior bag that holds the cheesy crackers is not recyclable.
Back to Nature is however, a supporter of The Nature Conservancy, a leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important bodies of water and land. And their carton manufacturing facility reuses and recycles more than 95% of the solid waste from the process. The ink used on the paperboard comes from soy, flax and tree nuts, so it is obvious Back to Nature is committed to helping the planet.
The Taste?
Back to Nature cheesy crackers are delicious and very addictive. Thank goodness one serving allows 24 crackers because it is next to impossible to eat just a handful. The cheesy crackers are the same size as traditional Cheez-Its but their color is lighter and more natural looking. They are perfect for snacking or using in soup. Back to Nature's Crispy Cheddar Crackers are just about perfect, with one exception: they contain more salt than I like (320 grams); however, they do contain potassium.
Nutrition per serving (24 crackers):
Calories: 140
Saturated Fat: 0.5 grams
Cholesterol: 0
Potassium: 40 milligrams
Sodium: 320 milligrams
Protein: 3 grams
Ingredients:
Unbleached enriched wheat flour, safflower oil, cheddar cheese (made from cultured milk sat and enzymes), sea salt, leavening, vegetable color (annatto extract), malted barley flour, cream, autolyzed yeast extract.
Back to Nature's Crispy Cheddar Crackers might not be as healthy as a banana or almonds, but they are a great tasting snack for those seeking a healthier version of a cheesy cracker.
