I want to be most sure a cat litter works, so I often buy the cheapest of the more well known brands. This most recent time someone else picked up the cat litter for me. She said she got a wonderful deal. I am all for deals but Back to Nature Litter Purrrfect was a foreign brand to me.
I will have to say that I loved the idea that it was called Back to Nature. I am a natural sort of a person and liked the idea that the cat litter could be. I read the info on the container and something that stood out was it said lemon grass essence. I was happy to see that and knew it was something that set it apart from other litters. I was hoping that it would lend a nice natural smell to the litter, though it did not. It doesn't have much of a smell at all but that was ok with me because I don't like the heavy fragrance of some cat litters. I am not a fan of my cat walking around the house smelling like perfume. It has happened.
I use an automatic scooping litter box called a Littermaid and for it to work its best it needs to have a good scooping cat litter. I am happy to say that even though Back to Nature Litter Purrrfect was not my normal brand it always scooped up nice and firm and never caused any problems when my Littermaid scooped it. It never ended up caked on the rakes or stuck on the bottom, just clumped up and raked into the waste bin like it should.
The second most important thing, smell. Even though I never got the fresh scent of nature and lemon grass I wanted, Back to Nature Litter Purrrfect never made me smell the horrid ammonia smell of cat urine either. And the dust factor was at a very low minimum. I have yet to get a completely dust-less cat litter.
Back to Nature seems to live up to its name, as best a clumping cat litter can. Its ingredients are: 100% natural clay, natural baking soda and Natural lemon grass essence. That is all. Out of pure curiosity I checked an old container of the other name brand cat litter and I can't tell you the ingredients because they are not listed on the container, at all. Do the other companies have something to hide?
I am very pleased that I ended up with Back to Nature Litter Purrrfect cat litter. It turns out it is just the type of litter for my household. It doesn't cause the waste to smell and it clumps up nice and hard, all while being made from all natural ingredients. Even if you don't search out natural product often Back to Nature works just as effectively as the other brands and you can feel even better about using it.
