Back to School Crafts and Activites

Getting back to school for your child can be tough no matter what age they are. To help prepare them to go back to school, try some of these crafts and activities.

1. Make a Cover for a Notebook

This can be really fun. You're going to need some paper, scissors, glue, and something to draw with like markers.

First, line up the paper up to your notebook, and cut so it's the same size as the cover. Now for the fun part, make the paper as colorful and original as possible, maybe put your name on the front with something surrounding it. Next, line it up to your notebook and put a little dot of glue on the back of the paper and put it on your notebook. That way, you cannot tell your notebook apart from other kids at the school.

2. Go over some basic stuff you learned from last year.

What you need: Some folders that you kept your homework and class work from last year with the work inside it.

Going over the work will put you ahead of the game so you are prepared for your first day. Have your parents quiz you, or just look over it. Make a game out of it, like, if it's math, try to find some games online that's for your grade level. I think that mathisfun.com is one of the better websites for games for math of all grade levels!

3. Go shopping for back to school supplies.

What you need: Money

So you're going to want the best, new products for back to school supplies. Going over to staples and finding some great deals on some stuff you need and some stuff that you don't need is a really fun activity. Getting notebooks and binders are some stuff you're going to want to have for school, and locker items such as mirrors and pen holders are stuff you want to show off to your friends and keep your locker cool. You could get notebooks with a cool design on the front and binders with pockets for your PDA's and cell phones. Get some stuff for your locker that will make your locker look cool, and keep it nice and organized. They sell some stuff that cut your locker in half, so you can put books and binders on the bottom half, and your back pack and folders on the top.

These are just a couple ideas to get you started when you're going back to school. Remember to share the fun with your parents!
