There are many happy memories of the time spent preparing for my first year and subsequent years of teaching. It was a time of great joy and happiness. The items listed in this article were some of the teacher supplies that were very important and valuable to me.
The items listed below are not shown in any particular order.
1. Portfolio or Briefcase
This is a teacher necessity that can be very nice to use. It not only looks professional, but also is a great place to carry student paperwork, lesson plan book, etc. to and from home to school. It may also be used to carry these items from your classroom to the teacher's room during the school day.
2. Stickers
Depending on the grade level you will be teaching, students love to get a sticker on their tests and other assignments. Stickers are relatively inexpensive and are great to use.
3. Pens
A teacher needs lots of pens. There are lesson plans, report cards, notes to parents, etc. that need to be written. Teachers can also use pens to grade student tests and other assignments. Back to school sales are the perfect time to stock up on this teacher necessity.
4. Desk Pad Calendar
A desk pad calendar not only looks good on a teacher's desk, it also can be very useful. Teachers can write down meetings, conferences, etc. on a desk pad calendar.
5. Pre-Cut Letters of the Alphabet
These pre-cut letters will surely come in handy as you decorate your classroom throughout the school year. You will save lots of time if you use these pre-cut letters of the alphabet instead of cutting your own letters from construction paper.
6. Desk Accessories
Some desk accessories, which will be useful, include a pencil/pen holder, tape dispenser, etc. You can purchase items that match or mix and match various items.
7. Books
You can buy a wide variety of books that will come in handy as you start your teaching career. One choice includes various books to read to your students.
8. Posters
Teacher supply stores sell lots of different types of posters for your classroom. My students always liked the various posters that would be displayed in the classroom. Some of the posters displayed in my classroom included a solar system poster and a United States map poster. You can purchase posters appropriate for the subject or subjects and grade level that you teach.
Hope that you were able to use this back to school guide to help you as you shop for teacher supplies for back to school.
