Most families have already headed out to the store to begin their back to school shopping. Many parents take the time to go through their children's closet to see what items do not fit. If you have a teen you may allow them to pick out their clothes by themselves, or you just don't pay attention to the items that they buy. Keep in mind that school's are getting a lot stricter with the type of clothing that they are allowing teens to get away with in school. Even when it comes to supplies and essentials it is really important to look at, and think about what items you really need. There are a few things that you will want to add to your must have list.
Clothes that is too revealing and too tight
With clothes that are too reveling or just a tad bit too tight, your teen could quickly be the center of the wrong type of attention. When you are at the store take the time to have your child try the clothes that they want on, and see how they fit. Of course you can still get them what they like but make sure that it is age appropriate.
Cell phone
Let's face facts for years many teens survived going to school without having a cell phone. So there is really no reason why your child can not also do the same. Of course if they have to walk home by themselves, and you are concerned about safety a regular pre paid cell phone will be perfect. What they don't need is internet access on their cell phone, or the ability to take pictures, and send text messages.
An itinerary
Now is really a good time to get your child started on learning, how to schedule their time. After you have received their school schedule you can help them to organize their day. This will allow them to have plenty of time to get their homework done, as well as plenty of down time. Since we are currently living in the age of technology it may make sense, to get them a digital itinerary that they can keep at home. Or if they are in high school it may be easier for them to maneuver between classes.
Their own desk
If your child currently does not have their own desk to work at, you may want to consider getting them one. This will help them to keep their work neat and organized as well as give them a space that they can comfortably work at.
