Back to School Snack

Rice Krispie Treats

Jeremy Ross
Back to school is right around the corner and children need to have snacks for their lunch. This treat is something nearly every kid will love and beg for more. What treat is this? Rice Krispie (Crispy) Treats. This is a very simple recipe and takes maybe 15 minutes to make and will last for a while - that is if you do not eat all of them since they are so delicious.

The necessary ingredients are:

• ¼ cups of butter or margarine
• 7 cups of marshmallows
• 6 cups of cereal

Here are the steps:

1. Put the butter in a pot on medium heat.
2. Add the marshmallows.
3. Constantly stir the mixture to break up the marshmallows.
4. Add the cereal and continue to stir until evenly mixed.
5. Spread the mixture onto a big tray.

The Rice Krispie Treats can be eaten right away, hot, or refrigerated and saved for another date. You can make your child's snack for the whole week in about 15 minutes.
