There are many reasons why people lose their emails in their email clients. The hard disk could fail due to bad partitions and hardware issues. Viruses and Trojans could infect the computer. The operating system could crash. Losing your email can be a nightmare and you can find yourself in this headache-inducing situation.
One of the things that you can do is to back up your emails by burning them on CD or saving them on another hard disk. You can also back up your emails manually. To do this, you will have to go in the registry and save DBX files and keys. By doing this, you will be able to save your contacts, signatures you have created, and your email messages. However, you have to search through the Windows registry for the settings. A novice user may find this hard to do.
There are also email saver programs that backs up and restores your emails, signatures, folders, addresses and settings automatically. This software may be used with Outlook Express, IncrediMail, and some other email clients. You can use it to move your emails from one computer to another. For example, you can transfer emails from your laptop to your PC. You can also backup emails in Outlook Express from Windows98 and restore it on Windows XP.
You can do a search on the search engine of your preference for Email Back Up software. This should return a a few results and you can browse through the different ones to find the one that best fits what you are looking for.
You can lose your emails for many reasons, so it is important that you back up your email client so you can restore the emails and the settings among many other things f it was to go down. You can either do this manually, which could be difficult for a beginner and a little time consuming, or you can use a software program which will enable you to do the task automatically. Either way, you save yourself a lot of trouble and, possibly, a lot of money, too.
Another thing you consider doing is purchasing a jump drive, just for email back up. You can them pop it in daily and quickly back your emails up. This would only save your emails though, it would not save your settings.
