Acronis True Image 10: Backup Your Hard Drive Easily

1 - Installing Acronis True Image
Once you've visited the website and after downloading the software run the executable.
Click "Install Acronis True Image Home"
After accepting the license of Acronis True Image choose "Typical" by clicking it once and continue the installation.
Click "Close". A reboot is necessary.
Then click on "Yes" to restart your computer.
2 - Creating a disc image
When you start Acronis True Image by the shortcut on your desktop you get a message if you are using the evaluation version
The trial version of Acronis True Image Home expires in 15 days. Click on "Try" if you do not want to buy the program at this time. You will arrive at the main Acronis interface.
Click "Save" in order to create an image of your system.
Click "Next" and select the type of backup, select "My Computer".
Click "Next". Here you create an image of your system partition "C:" You will save it onto a different partition. For this example, we will call it D:. To do this select the system partition.
Click "Next". Click on OK.
Choose a location to save your image to. Once this is done click "Next".
Check the "Create a new full backup" and then "Use default options".
Click "Next".
Below is an opportunity for you to add comments to your backup, which can help you find a backup quickly in the case of an emergency. Then click "Next".
Acronis True Image is ready to proceed with the creation of the image. To start the backup click "Proceed". The backup will take some time to finish, depending on the size of your partition.
Once finished, the image will have been created and stored in the directory you specified. Using Acronis True Image 10 is especially useful because you can create an exact copy of the hard disk or partition. A useful tip is to make a backup just after installing Microsoft Windows. You can then restore the image instead of re-installing the operating system. This is beneficial because the restore process is incredibly quick, and thus much faster than a full re-install of Windows.
