Backstreet Boys Return This October with Their First Album Since 2005

On October 30, the Backstreet Boys will release their first album since 2005's Never Gone. Since that album, the band has undergone some major changes, the biggest being the departure of member Kevin Richardson. Richardson left the group in June 2006 to pursue other interests.

Richardson and his wife recently welcomed their first child, a boy, into the world. The four remaining members are no longer boys, but men ranging in age from 27 to 34. In the time since their last album, Brian Littrell has had a very successful career in Christian music with his album Welcome Home, and Howie Dorough has recently become engaged to his longtime girlfriend. Nick Carter was named UN Ambassador for the year of the dolphin.

Currently, the band is on a cross-country radio tour to promote the new album and single.

The title of the new album will be Unbreakable. The first single, Inconsolable will hit the airwaves on August 27. Although Inconsolable is the first single, it was one of the last songs recorded for the album. The band is planning a world tour for 2008, with some Japanese dates already announced. Although other "boy bands" have gone their separate ways, the Backstreet Boys have no plans to quit anytime soon.

The Backstreet Boys were formed in 1993 in Orlando, Florida, by then-mogul Lou Pearlman. The band's 1999 album Millennium has sold over 7 million albums worldwide.
