Bad Dates and Facebook

Tonight I decided it would be a good idea to write an article about relationships or actually what one should not do on a first date if they ever want that date to have a chance to actually develop into a relationship.

The original article that I had in mind was one that offered good advice from both real men and women. Of course if I was going to write the article, I needed more opinions than just my own so I did what I always do when I need information: I posted to Facebook.

It didn't take long before my wall began to fill up with responses and I was ready to write. As I went through the responses I came to a startling realization: My friends seem to share my twisted sense of humor.

What made the responses so funny to me was the recollection of hearing them from my friends in the past. These were true stories that simply left us all in a state of shock or disgust afterwards. I found it surprising for a moment that the men weren't responding until I looked closely at my wall. It resembled a "girl's night out" minus the tequila shot. Several women in one place commiserating about the unbelievable nerve and lack of good sense some of our past dates exhibited.

Gentlemen, pay attention because the following will either prevent you from ruining that first date with the girl of your dreams or give you the information you need to make sure the crazy woman that your best friend set you up with as a joke will run screaming from the table.

Bad Table Manners

Contrary to popular opinion of teenage boys it seems grown women do not find it amusing when their date slurps their food, talks with the mouth full, eats spaghetti with his fingers or belches loud enough to cause the entire restaurant to turn around at stare. Yes, women do like to be noticed but not when there are bodily sounds involved. Yes, this does mean you have to refrain from playing the "pull my finger game" during dinner as well.

Marriage Proposals

While many women are looking for Mr. Right, it does seem that Mr. Right does not propose marriage on a first date nor does he ask the woman to bear his children within hours of meeting her. Generally women do prefer to get to know you a little bit better before they accept an offer to spend their lives cooking, cleaning and doing all the things that mommy did for you before we came along to save you. Well, at least that is what is running through the mind of any woman who gets a proposal on a first date.

Suggestions Of Hooking Up With The Hot Woman At The Bar

Most women understand that most men do have the fantasy of two women at the same time but there are a few broken rules in this idea.

No woman, especially on a first date wants to feel like the man she is with is looking at anyone but her. Pointing out the hot woman is a good way to find your dinner in your lap.

Suggesting sex on the first date really does make the woman you are with feel as if you are not interested in her at all. You are simply interested in having sex with her and now you have made her mad.

Of course, if the woman with you, does find the woman at the bar hot, she might like the idea of hooking up with her but since you just proved to her that all you want from her is sex, she just might decide to hook up with that woman at the bar and leave you standing there with not much more than the check for dinner and the hot girls bar tab in your hand.

Well Gentlemen, there you have it. Slap on your best aftershave, slick your hair back, look in the mirror and tell yourself how no woman can resist you. Now go out and charm her socks off.
