Bad Luck Charley

The Blame Game

Steven West
Bad Luck Charley
Always had something go wrong.
He blamed his woes on others.
He spun the same old song.

If the laundry came out dirty,
Charley said it wasn't his fault.
Poor Charley seemed to suffer
From a double, painful gout.

If the grass looked like it was mowed
By a bunch of angry groundhogs,
Charley would claim that it was the fault
Of the neighbor's next door dogs.

If Charley lost the promotion
Because his performance wasn't good,
Charlie would blame his woes
On a group called Satan's Hood.

Yes, Charlie was never to blame.
It wasn't his fault at all.
His lies and excuses were deflating
Like the puncture in a ball.
