The PowerForce Vacuum cleaner, is bagless. Please don't forget this! If you're from the old school and still love the vacuums that require you to change bags every time they get full, then you probably won't care for this vacuum.
If on the other hand, you don't mind emptying the dust container and cleaning filters according to the user manual, then this is the vacuum for you. And cleaning the filters does take some getting use to. Especially for those of your who are use to going weeks, maybe months before changing your vacuum bags.
Other than that, this vacuum would make a nice addition to any home. If you care for it properly, it will work wonders on your carpet and floors. It is light weight and easy to handle.
Even when the dust canister is full, the Bissell PowerForce Bagless Vacuum is still light and easy to handle. What I love most about this wonderful vacuum cleaner is the 24 foot cord that allows you to clean larger areas without un-plugging.
Generally I vacuum the kitchen, the dining area, the living room and down the hallway before having to un-plug. This makes vacuuming faster and cuts down on my clean up time.
I love the idea of a bagless vacuum, because cleaning the filters and canister means less dust back flow into your house, and you don't have to worry about changing dust bags that may burst when you pull them from the canister.
I also like the Bissell PowerForce Bagless Vacuum because of the price - only $65 dollars from Wal-Mart - and because I don't have to purchase vacuum cleaner bags. This alone was enough to get me to purchase this Bissell vacuum cleaner. with the bagged vacuums, I always seem to run out of bags at the most inopportune time.
At first I didn't think I would like the Bissell Bagless Vacuum, but now I'm totally hooked on this light weight vacuum. It has washable inner and outer filters, a washable motor filter and a 24 foot power cord. The Bissell vacuum cleaner comes with a crevice tool and a dusting and upholstery tool.
The Bissell PowerForce Bagless Vacuum cleaner covers a 13 inch cleaning path, and can vacuum your carpet, your wood floors, your upholstery and the stairs. I even used it to clean and suck dust out of my computer vents.
It's easy and convenient to empty the dust canister, it's easy to carry and maneuver and you don't ever have to worry about running out of vacuum bags.
You can purchase this either on line or at Wal-Mart. The price on line is around $72 dollars, and the Wal-Mart store had them for $65 dollars. The price may have gone up however, I've had mind for eight months. But go out any way and check out the Bissell PowerForce Bagless Vacuum for yourself.
If you have a child going off to college this year, this will be the perfect thing to get them. Leave it in the box until you get to the dorm. It's easy to assemble and it is very light.

Post a CommentI have had the bissell 6585 for about 6 months. It started making an awful noise. I found the ridges on the brush bar were rubbing on the ridges on the housing where the bar fits into. Bissell is trying to sell me a new brush bar and belt. This gets hot and is a fire hazzard. this Bissell 6585 needs to be recalled before someone gets hurt.
i liked the bissell 6585 so much, that i bought mom one for mother's day. her's kept shocking her at first. mine quit within nine months of purchase. (the end piece of the roller brush melted and it melted the housing too.) they quickly sent me a replacement and it developed the same roller brush problem after i had it only seven months. turns out, bissell warranties their replacements for only 3 months. surprise.
I purchased the Bissell 6585 on Nov 6, 2009. The week before Christmas it started making terrible noises and it smelled like something was burning every time I turned it on. I contacted Bissell and they told me the belt and brush bar needed to be replaced. AFTER LESS THAN 2 MONTHS??? The belt maybe, but the brush bar?? NO WAY!! I returned it to Walmart and got a Hoover...no more Bissells for this girl!!
We're getting shocks too, through the plastic handle, with our new 5685. Back to Walmart with this one!
we bought the Bissell PowerForce Bagless 6585 model vaccum today.
It is SHOCKING me! The handle sends jolts into my fingers as I'm vacuuming. Needless to say, I'm not impressed. I will be sending this little gem BACK
Next vacuum I get, I'm going with bagless. Thanks for this review. I particularly like hearing how long the power cord is.
