Bait and Switch Politics
This morning, as I perused Associated Content for new content, I found several articles that showed me just how artful Obama supporters are at "Bait and Switch". I read an article about a prank call made to Sarah Palin. The Author used her best literary ability to assert to us that the woman is a dummy. She also told us how dishonest she was because she said she knew it was a prank. Imagine that!!! Sarah Palin got a prank phone call!!! No doubt that is one of the more pressing issues of the campaign in the author's estimation, but maybe, just maybe, the AC producer is another master at "Bait and Switch". It is sad that the author couldn't, or didn't address Obama's remarks about skyrocketing energy costs. Its sad that she didn't address his assertion that he would bankrupt the coal industry. No, instead she chose to write about a prank phone call. The same producer has written numerous articles about this election cycle. She has targeted the major issues like Sarah Palin's clothing and what Joe the dastardly plumber is really up to. She, along with many others are the National Enquirer of AC. They amuse us with their stories about the plumber and the clothing and all of the things that they consider so important to this country.
For weeks now reporters have been out asking people on the street to name an accomplishment of Obama's. So far they have come up empty. Superlatives have abounded. They cite his ability to communicate, they call him a uniter, but they can't name one significant accomplishment. They don't have to, they live in Sringervile, that place where Jerry Springer lets people throw chairs at one another and make stupid assertions about the people that disagree with them. They live in a world where wishes are real and nice words make them tingle. They listen to their candidate propose ideas that have failed miserably in other countries and they believe him because they don't know any better. They think it is okay for Obama to take money from one and give it to another, as long as they, like him, are on the receiving end. They don;t seem to care that while he preaches about responsibility and generosity he has been extremely stingy with his own personal money. Obama doesn;t have to practice what he preaches, he only has to make it sound good and his worshippers will listen.
They chant hope, and clamor for change, but change the subject when you ask them exactly what they mean. They teach little children to sing for their glorious leader and they think it'scute because they just can't seem to remember, or are not aware of when the little children did the same with Hitler. Indoctrination is good in their eyes as long as it is indoctrination in their favor. Simon and Garfunkel wrote a song years ago called the "sounds of silence" and that is what we hear now when anyone brings up the fact that ACORN is perpetually accused of voter fraud and in fact has been prosecuted and convicted for the same. For years they chanted "Bush Lied" but they don't care that Obama funded ACORN, took money from Rezco, and blatantly lied about public financing for his campaign. You see, its all subjective. If Obama lies its okay because they share his values or lack thereof.
The game of bait and switch is alive and well in America. Ask about an issue and you'll be told about Joe the Plumber. Call Obama a socialist and he'll tell you that he shared his sandwich in kindergarten. What he won't tell you is that he hasn't done it since. Ask anything at all about Obama and you'll be called a racist, because that is the magic bullet these days. Don't question Obama's affiliations, because that is racist too. Don't ask Obama about why he wants to bankrupt the coal powered plants in America or you'll see a plethora of articles about Palin's clothes or McCains houses. What you won't see is an honest forthright answer. They don't have to, they have perfected "Bait and Switch".

EXCELLENT!!! I still am amazed that no questions asked by those that supported McCain were ever answered or even approached by the press. Instead, they knew what Joe the plumber had for breakfast and what time he emptied it from his system.
You can rest assured that "bait and switch" will continue to thrive as the policies of the Obama administration become clearer. What will become apparent quickly is that a number of presidential campaign promises will probably become missing in action. The hope that was promised is like the hope that one has when they buy a lottery ticket - all the hope in the world will still make 99.999999% of purchasers losers.

This was a very prescient article Anne. Too bad the issue been decided long ago . . . Like Clark Richards said in another comment, preparations for the 2010 mid-terms is well underway.
Well the cow is out of the barn. As the coach says, " We have to play defense now". I only hope there are enough blue dog dems and strong republicans in DC to stem the tide if the Obamanation. Within 30 days of the inauguration we will see what we are in store for. I can see fuel prices going up now that there is no incentive for the dems to give in on drilling. Coal prices will skyrocket as fines drive up the cost of doing business which will mean higher energy prices for Obama supporters.Read the celeb rags and see how many wealthy celebs are taking up residence out of the country. (many of them Obama supporters, by the way) As the dems punish big business for being profitable, just watch how many CEO's take their business HQ's overseas to get out from under higher taxes. Of course the smart wealthy folks that supported Obama have already figured out ways to avoid paying higher (if any) taxes. It all rolls downhill folks. I feel like I just went home...thanks Anne for getting it...I was just lured into an AC liberal compound..whew..what a scene..folks there claim I am fear "merchanting", instilling fear here and on my blog...lol..and they speak highly of Powell (now) for endorsing 0bama. They do this while ignoring Ayers, Wright, and a host of other actual fear merchants and racists...these are the same people that beat up Joe the plumber for exercising the most basic of freedoms..to question our leaders...unfreaking believable....When the Barack 0bama supporters look around and see the company they keep..and it doesn't make them shudder....then something is seriously broken in this nation.
As the preacher said "AMEN to that"! I am afraid that the entire United States is going to fall prey to Obama's "bait and switch" and then, of course, the Democrats will blame it entirely upon the Republicans for not stopping them. It never fails. It's a shame that the dumb are leading the dumb. Tomorrow will tell what our life is going to be like for the next four years at least, and I sincerely hope that it's going to be safe and secure, instead of dumb. Oh, Anne - this is sooo good! But haven't you learned yet? Every bad rumor about Obama is false, and every bad rumor about McCain and Palin is true. Get with it. (LOL) - honestly though - when you don't know what to say in defense of your own ideas, you must make the other guy look bad. That is what the Obamabots are doing. I hate to think of the next 4 yrs if he wins. I had one comment today that Obama would be the best President because he's sophisticated, eloquent and savvy. Yeah. And that's about the extent of his accomplishments. And I'm sure Michelle buys her clothes at Wal-Mart.
