Baking is fun. Everybody knows that. But if you're new to this whole baking stuff you better make sure that you have the important tools ready in your pantry. Here's a short list of some basic baking tools to get you started:

1.Steel Offset Spatulas

Icing, frosting and spreading mixtures on a cake will be much faster and easier when you use an offset spatula. Your cakes will turn out much better too. An offset spatula can also be used to help you position a cake layer onto another. You should get a spatula long enough to cover all your baking need. A 14-inch long spatula will most likely suffice for almost everything.

2. Pastry Brush

A pastry brush is essential for spreading butter/oil, brushing cake/chocolate molds, etc. Make sure you buy a brush with silicone bristles instead of natural ones. Unlike natural bristle silicone bristles are easier to clean and they don't retain odor. Natural bristles shed a lot too so that's more reason not to use them.

3. Silicone Baking Mat

A baking mat is used for preparing, heating up and also cooking food. You can also use it for kneading bread and cookie dough. A silicone baking mat is great because it's your dough won't stick on it. Anyone who enjoys baking cookies must have a baking mat. Just remember not to use a sharp object on it. That would seriously ruin the mat.

4. Stand Mixer

A powerful stand mixer can make your baking adventure a lot more easy and fun. An excellent stand mixer you may want to consider is the KitchenAid KSM158GBCA. It's powerful and it has glass mixing bowl that allows you to see if your dough are fully mixed and everything.

5. Dill

Dill is a narrow spoon that can fit into a small spice jar. It can also be used as a measuring spoon. If you use a dill you can save yourself from the annoying incident when your precious spices pouring out from the container when you just want to take a little bit of them.

6. Whisk

You can buy either a traditional wire whisk or a more modern whisk like the WMF silicone ball whisk. This whisk is a much better choice over the traditional wire one because the silicone balls on the end made your whisking action more effective. The balls also protect your non-stick pan and keep them scratch free.
