Balancing Work and Home Life

7 Steps for a Stress Free Life

Robert Cooper
Finding a balance between work and home life has been a long debated topic. Since the 'normal' family with two parents has become a family with two wage earners it has been extremely difficult to maintain a healthy balance.

The days are over when one parent works in the house and one parent works outside the house. Mingling these lives becomes the new challenge. You will find that figuring this out will lead to more free time and fewer arguments about where the family is suppose to be when.

So how does a person balance their life and keep stress to a minimum?

The answer lies in planning and priorities. I found that preparation & planning was the key to a stress less life.

1. Keep a calendar that integrates family and work schedules. This way work doesn't completely take over pushing family time to the back.

2. Integrate into a total family calendar so you can a line free time (for all) and make it to important children activities.

3. Realize that there is a difference between a cluttered house and a dirty house. Schedule total family clean time to do up keep together so you can share the chore while sharing each other's company.

4. Make sure the entire family reserves time for exercise and health planning. Without great health it is impossible to keep up with a busy schedule.

5. Make sure your planning includes a volunteer project like a food pantry or soup kitchen. While benefiting others you take a break from your own life and issues and find joy in helping someone else. This also can become family time doing it together.

6. Become an Organizer. It has been proven that a cluttered life leads to a cluttered mind. To remain stress free you need a clear mind.

7. Make sure you have personal and family goals and make sure each activity brings you closer to one of your goals.

The ultimate strategy is to make sure that while you are involved in life you don't miss life. Pick activities that are important to you and include the entire family in each activity if possible.
The stress free life is a passionate life filled with joy and no regrets.
