If you are a work from home mother struggling to balance your work life with motherhood, it is important to know you are not alone. Many work from home mothers struggle with the exact same thing because there is always so much to get done but only so many hours in a day. You do not want any aspect of your life to seem like you are not giving it your all, so you struggle to balance all the balls you have thrown up into the air each and every day. Luckily, there are many tips that are helpful to those balancing working at home with motherhood.

Create a Routine

When you are balancing working from home with motherhood, you have to create a routine that works well for your work schedule and your family. It is important to get yourself and your family into a routine to make the most of the limited hours you have in your day. By creating a routine you can set aside time to work and time for your family. Part of your routine needs to include getting ready to work, this means getting dressed for work. When you get dressed to "go to work" you are more likely to spend more time working because you will feel as though you are actually getting ready for work. By having your family on a routine they will know there are certain hours throughout the day that mommy is working and distractions need to be kept to a minimum.

Prioritize

When you are balancing working from home with motherhood, you must prioritize your life. Because you have so many limited hours in your day, you need to sit down and carefully evaluate how you are spending your time. To be able to balance working from home with motherhood you may need to make some tough choices to give yourself more time in your day. You may need to lose the gym membership and work out at home instead. You may need to cut out that weekly girls night out to one night a month. Prioritizing your time will limit the chaos you feel and accomplish everything you must on a daily basis.

Know Your Family

When balancing working from home with motherhood, it is important to know your family. Know when your family requires the most attention from you and try not to work during this time. Know when your family is generally relaxed and calm and set time for you to work during this time. This will ensure you can stay focused and productive during the hours you work and also give your family the undivided attention they need during times they require your attention the most.
