Jordanian pianist Zade Dirani and his accompanying musicians will perform his masterwork "One Night in Jordan: A Concert for Peace," at Royal Oak's Stagecrafters Baldwin Theatre.

The version seen on PBS stations during the past two years was recorded June 19, 2008, at the 2,000-year-old Roman Amphitheatre in Amman.

For his musical promotion of peace in the Middle East, Zade has been described as "Jordan's leading cultural ambassador."

Zade himself has explained: "When I close my eyes and start playing the piano, I immediately travel back to the beautiful rolling hills and winding narrow roads that travel down to the Jordan River and then up to Jerusalem. A certain spirituality and biblical sacredness is cast over the area. When I was but a boy living in Jordan, that place was my earliest inspiration and recollection of what peace represented to me."

Prior to One Night in Jordan: A Concert for Peace, Zade toured the U.S. extensively after the 9/11 attacks. In 2005, he established the ZADE Foundation for International Peace and Understanding, which encourages young internatoional musicians to serve as "proactive peace builders and future community leaders."

Tickets to the Baldwin Theatre show of One Night in Jordan: A Conert for Peace are $31.
