Ball Park Brand Franks Are Delicious Hot Dogs: Consumer Product Review

Thomas J McCabe
Hot dogs, or frankfurters, are among the most popular of all food items in America. With a wide array of hot dog choices available in today's supermarkets and food retailers, consumers are sometimes unsure of which brand of hot dogs to purchase. No such quandary for myself, since discovering the pleasures of consuming Ball Park(R) brand franks. My father introduced me to Ball Park(R) brand Franks and now they are my regular and preferred brand. After sampling countless other types and brands of hot dogs, these top- rate tube steaks became my favorite brand because of their fantastic flavor, reasonable price and food- quality. Ball Park(R) Franks are manufactured by Sara Lee(R) Foods, makers of such iconic products as Jimmy Dean(R) breakfast products, Hillshire Farm products and their own line of high- quality cakes and pies.

Ball Park(R) brand Products offers seven varieties of frankfurters. These include regular Ball Park(R) Franks, which are made with beef, pork and turkey, beef franks, cheese franks, bun size franks, fat free and lite franks, Ball Park(R) Singles(R), which are individually- wrapped franfurters and Grillmaster(R) franks, a hearty line of Deli- Style, Smokehouse and Hot N' Spicy Franks. At one time or another, I have eaten each these products and every one is of high- quality and tastes delicious. More often than not however, I consume the Ball Park(R) Beef Franks and the regular style Ball Park(R) Franks at home. As with all of the Ball Park(R) products, these hot dogs exhibit a real, way- they- should- taste flavor, that can usually only be found in the franks served at baseball games and other outdoor sporting events. Even the texture of these hot dogs is noticeable to me. Having eaten many hot dogs that contain mushy or un- balanced fillings, I noticed right away that these frankfurters are more tightly- packed, a common trait of a high- quality frankfurter. Whether eaten straight, with no toppings, or topped with mustard, relish, ketchup, onions and/ or chili, these delightful dogs consistently satisfy.

Another sure sign of a high- quality frankfurter is how it holds up after being steamed. Several times, I have utilized a hot dog steamer when preparing these franks and they have always retained their shape, flavor and texture. Especially after being steamed, Ball Park(R) Franks display their true sausage flavor. Because they are so exceptionally flavorful, I also like to add sliced Ball Park(R) Franks to omelettes and fritattas. The flavor of these excellent hot dogs is hearty, yet mild, producing a pleasant taste that is not overpowering. Sometimes, I even eat Ball Park(R) franks plain, with no toppings added. When sliced and simmered with canned beans, or chili, the flavor of these frankfurters is dynamic. The many varieties of Ball Park(R) brand Franks are available at most major food retailers and they are competitively priced. Nutritionally, each Ball Park(R) brand Beef Frank contains 180 calories, with 150 calories from fat. All things considered, Ball Park(R) Franks are highly recommended by this reviewer.

I am not a picky eater at all and enjoy the occasional hot dog but these just turned my stomach. The texture is just all wrong, it tastes like eating spongy fat. Gross.

These hot dogs are nasty. Go with Hebrew National or Nathans. No hot dog should have corn syrup in it.

    My grandson loves these.

My kids like the all beef ones. Good review!
