Balloon Hoax Plot Thickens, TMZ Reports Richard Heene Actively Pursuing Reality TV Show for Family from TLC
Balloon Boy Hoax Story Unfolds - Richard Heene, Falcon Heene's Father Wants Reality TV Show for Family Reports TMZ
The six year old boy who was originally thought to be the boy in the balloon, Falcon Heene said live on a TV interview, "we did this for the show" when asked by his father why he did this. Richard Keene cut that line of questioning off completely after that comment slipped out from his son. This interview was the start of the downfall with many more inconsistencies to come. Falcon was throwing up on camera during interviews on Thursday, but this didn't stop the family from all the publicity opportunities. "The show went on".
Thursday's ordeal started when Richard Keene's homemade weather balloon launched from the backyard. Shortly after that they could not find their six year old son, Falcon. Heene's oldest child told his father that Falcon was in the weather balloon. Richard Heene first called the FAA to report his six year old son was in the weather balloon. Then his wife called 911. The tapes of the 911 call have both Richard Heene and his wife on the tape and both sounded genuinely upset.
The world watched as helicopters followed this saucer shaped balloon for over an hour as it flew across Colorado. People were on the edge of their seats as they watched the balloon, which was thought to be carrying a six year old boy. When the balloon finally came down it was empty. Then the reports came that witnesses had seen something fall from this balloon along its journey. Finally, Falcon Heene came out of his hiding place, a box in the garage attic, and appeared before his mother who was sitting on a couch.
A new video has surfaced showing the family around the launching saucer shaped weather balloon that Falcon was thought to have been in. It is a bizarre video in where it is not quite clear on what they are doing. Was it launched? Or did it just happen to come undone? If it did just happen to come undone, the family was lucky to have a camera on it at the time.
Richard Heene reported on Thursday that the first call he made was to the FAA, not 911 as one might think.
Richard Heene and his family have been on "Wife Swap", a reality show, not once, but twice. They have many videos on Youtube with the family doing all sorts of things including weather chasing and rapping in a music video.
TMZ reports this family has been actively pursuing trying to get a reality TV show made about their life. He has been pitching his show to TLC months before the Boy in the Balloon episode. He has also pitched a series to Reality Real and RDF Productions. RDF produces "Wife Swap," on which the family appeared on twice. Will he get this show now?????

Post a CommentInteresting article. I was just wondering the other day what happened to Henne? Now why doesn't that surprise me that he's pitching a reality show. Jerk.
I find it difficult to take this article seriously when the author repeatedly refers to the family as the "keene" family.
It is especially disconcerting to have these errors in an article that is so critical of the media and the family.
Lets talk about accurate reporting.
Maybe you should proof your stories first before you jump on the bandwagon.
Thanks for this... :o)
I hope kids are with CPS. Who knows what dad will do now that hoax is confirmed, and their lives are ruined. Awful parents.
Send them to jail. This is ridiculous. All this trouble for absolutely nothing.
It doesnt surprise me because the husband is obviously seeking attention by any means possible. His wife is an obedient passive Asian wife who'll go along with whatveer her husband wants to do. The kid spilled the beans. It was a hoax, case closed.
I'm suspicious too--this entire thing is bizarre.
Wow, what a weird family! I really enjoyed reading this and have to say I wouldn't be at all interested in a reality show with these people! Nice job!
Well done Roz. There was always more to this that it looked like.
Great report! I saw on 'The Insider' that Heene and his wife met in acting class.
