Balloono, a Free Online Multiplayer Game

Balloono is a free online multiplayer strategy/action game available on omgpop.com (previously known as iminlikewithyou.com), a gaming and social networking website that targets a younger audience. Balloono is also available on Newgrounds.com, home of Flash-generated submissions. Balloono was submitted to Newgrounds.com on January 2, 2010 and won a Daily 3rd Place award on January 3, 2010. It currently has a score of 3.71/5.00 based on votes from the Newgrounds.com community.

General Gameplay

Balloono is very similar to the popular Bomberman series developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo. The gameplay is almost exactly the same, so if you are familiar with Bomberman, then Balloono should be pretty familiar too.

In Balloono, you control a monkey that is fighting against other monkeys. Your goal is to attack the other monkeys with water balloons.

Move around the board with your arrow keys. To drop a water balloon, press the spacebar on your keyboard. The balloon will automatically pop after a certain amount of time. Once it pops, a stream of water will eject in four directions. The stream distance initially will only be one square away.

If a stream hits a crate, the crate will break. Crates may contain items that can be used to power up your monkey and/or the water balloons that the monkey is armed with.

Powerups include the following:
-Extra Balloon
-Better Speed
-Longer Splash Distance

When you collect an item, the corresponding upgrade will be added automatically. You can see your in-game statistics on the left hand side of the screen, right under the picture of you monkey. You can see stats for your monkey's speed, the number of balloons you are capable of dropping at a time, and the range of the splash caused by your water balloons.

If you get splashed on by another monkey's balloon, you will be incased in a bubble. A timer will run down while you are in the bubble. Once the timer runs down, you will be free. However, other players can pop your bubble. Once they do, you will lose the game.

Try to attack other players before they get to you.
