Ballotpedia, with main page at www.ballotpedia.org, allows users to select their state and see what the state wide amendments and propositions are, with a link to information about each. Clicking on the state of California takes users to a page showing the 12 statewide propositions. If you want to know more about the subject, choosing the propistion number, ie Prop 4 or Prop 8, links to more information.

For instance, California proposition 4, on Abortion, has an additional page which shows the issue being voted, the history of the California proposition, and the arguments for and against the proposition. If you want to know more about California Prop 8, click the Prop 8 column to see information on the actual ballot measure.
