Bamboo Chip 'n Dip from Bed Bath and Beyond

I love chips and dip, and I love Veggies and dip, so when registering for a chip/dip set, I took it very seriously. The Bamboo Chip 'n Dip set from Bed Bath and beyond was my favorite by far so I registered for it right away. For $30, it seemed a little pricey for an appetizer tray, but it looked so nice that I registered for it and hoped someone else would think it was cool too. Luckily someone did purchase it for my wedding shower and I couldn't be happier!

Sold Exclusively by Bed Bath and Beyond, The Bamboo Chip 'n Dip set is actually very simple. It contains two pieces. The first is the Bamboo plate which is 12.5" in diameter and a good solid thickness. This piece isn't going to break if you drop it. It seems very strong, and it's a tad bit heavy but I actually see that as a good thing because it means it is stable when it's on the table. The bamboo is not only solid and strong, it's pretty! I really like the color and the striped design of the plate.

The second piece is the ceramic dip dish, which fits neatly inside the center of the bamboo dip plate. The only downside to this being ceramic is that you have to be careful with it since it is more easy to break than a glass or plastic dip dish. Even so, it looks really nice and the white contrasts with the bamboo in the perfect way to make the whole thing look elegant.

When covered with an appetizer - it just makes the appetizer that much more appealing. Whether it's chips and salsa, veggies and dip, or anything else, this plate makes it look special! Your appetizer will definitely stand out on the table. The dip bowl actually holds a fair amount of dip even when you don't fill it all the way. The plate itself can be stacked high with your veggies (or whatever else you have) and you'll be amazed how much you can fit on there.

Is it hard to transfer? I say... Nope! When I first was using this Chip 'n Dip set, I was wondering how I would transfer it from my home to a party. I found the perfect and easy solution. First I wrapped the ceramic dip bowl with a small piece of saran warp, then placed it in the middle where it belongs. It's easier if you wrap the bowl separate because it helps keep the dip in the bowl where it belongs instead of spilling. Second I stacked up all the veggies as high as I wanted. Finally, I wrapped two long pieces of saran wrap around the entire plate. When arriving to the party, it was easy to pull off all three pieces of saran wrap and people could eat instantly. There was no preparation needed since everything was ready already. Just make sure you have good sticky saran wrap - that blue stuff won't do.

And then you have to clean it. This product is hand wash only, and you are not supposed to let water sit on it for long so it's basically something you want to wipe down and dry off as soon as you are done. Considering the only thing on the bamboo will be chips, veggies, or maybe some spilled dip, it isn't hard to clean at all. You should make sure to clean it as soon as the party is over though, just to be safe. The ceramic dish wipes down just as easy and you are ready to serve chips and dip again!

Store it someplace safe. If you have room in your house, keep he box as that will be the easiest way to store it. If not, find a secluded place in your cabinet. I store both pieces above my fridge with our punch bowl. These are all 3 things we don't access daily so I like to keep them separate and safe from curious hands! The bamboo plate is stable enough to lean on it's side as shown in the picture.
