First, it is renewable. Unlike any other wood products that grow very slow. By choosing bamboo products, you become a hero to the forest.
Second, bamboo flooring is a perfect choice because your floor would look very natural. I got this flooring from Floor Bamboo that is made from Mao Bamboo. Mao Bamboo grows in China and is considered to be one of the hardest plants known to man.
Third, it is durable. Despite the fact that bamboo is grass, its' exceptional structure makes it very strong.
Buying floor is a very hard job to do. It entails extensive research on prices, quality, and warranty. How do you choose the perfect flooring for you? Here are some tips I've gathered which might help you in buying floors.
First, the prices of bamboo flooring in the market are quite different. But it is not always that the higher price, the better product. It is important to do a research. Afterward, choose a reasonable price, with quality in your mind.
Second, choose flooring that would best describe yourself and would fit your personality. Structure wise, there are three kinds of flooring-- strand-woven and grained. The strand-woven bamboo is different from the traditional bamboo flooring because it is harder but the price is higher.
Third, as for color processing, the traditional method is staining. Though carbonization may soften the bamboo a little, it is highly recommended. Carbonization is a high pressure heat cure, which alters the color of entire board inside out. There is no adding manmade material in the process of carbonization. However, when you do staining, it's a must to use paint to avoid the bamboo's appearance to get destroyed.
Fourth, you must measure the area or the space of your place and think about how much flooring is needed. It's always nice to order 5-10% extra flooring for waste. This is important because in the end you might find it very bothersome to buy a new set. The extra flooring is really useful if an accident happens to your flooring, such as scratch or so.
Lastly, no bamboo flooring inside the restroom or anywhere that would create moist. Too much moisture will be detrimental to the bamboo flooring. Having a bamboo flooring inside the bathroom is not covered by the warranty so better avoid installing them in wrong places. Warranty helps you in the long run so give importance to it. Those are some points I take in to consideration every time I buy flooring. I hope my tips will be of great help to you when you are buying or deciding on what flooring to buy.
