I have personally experienced being sunburned twice in Florida once in Daytona Beach and another time in Miami on South Beach. I didn't have any sunblock on and I should have known better especially since I have highly sensitive skin that breaks out and discolors very easily. I experienced the worst sunburns on my face with a combination of overcooked skin, peeling and the perplexed demeanor of people after seeing my sunburn. I could not deny or cover it up with makeup without further irritating it or having an unpleasantly painful experience while trying to wash or casually touch it. My sunburns eventually healed with my using a little Palmer's cocoa butter Formula with Vitamin E to clear up the dark spots to soften and smooth out my skin but I also had to stay out of the sun for awhile. I had to make putting on sunblock as a part of my daily regime so I decided to check out a few brands to figure out what works best for my combination of dry, oily and sensitive skin. Overall, I now don't leave home without sunblock and my favorite line of products of that nature is Banana Boat.
The Banana Boat line has a variety of choices for the sunblock conscious person. As we grow older our skin does not recover as quickly as it used to so cleansing, moisturizing and protecting it from the sun rays with sunblock are essential. The Sun Protection Factor(SPF) is the first priority in choosing a sunblock to purchase for these numbers refer to the product's ability to screen or block out the sun's burning rays. The SPF rating is calculated by comparing the amount of time needed to produce a sunburn on protected skin to the amount of time needed to cause a sunburn on unprotected skin. Sunscreens with an SPF of 15 or higher are generally thought to provide useful protection from the sun's harmful rays.
I mentioned earlier that I have highly sensitive skin so I needed to find a sunblock that would protect and not irritate my skin especially on my face. I decided to try Banana Boat Sun Wear Faces Oil Free Sunblock Lotion. It is an essential organic botanicals product that is an Oil-Free daily sunblock lotion that promises an ultra sheer and clean feel. It also offers long lasting UVA/UVB protection and to top it off it provides SBF 30 protection. I adore the product because it delivers on all its promises and it is smooth and light in texture on my face. I have had no outbreaks or problems with using this product.
I strongly recommend for those who want to try out some reliable sunscreen for the face. The body also needs a little sunblock loving from you. I have personally tried Banana Boat's new Ultra Defense Continuous Spray Sunblock for the entire body. It provides SPF 50 protection with long lasting UVA/UVB Protection. It is a light spray that protects and cools rub free enriched with an Aloe Vera Waterproof bonus. I enjoy this product because it goes on smooth on the skin without having a thick layer that takes significant time to absorb into the skin. The only downside of Banana Boat products is it's tropical island scent. It is not a bad smell but it can attract mosquitoes who adore sweet smells and may decide bite you. Be careful if you are living in moist areas which are typically mosquitoe havens. Overall, at a price of $6.99-$11.99 The Banana Boat Sunblock Product line is affordable and provides excellent UV protection.
