France holds some of the most well known wine vineyards throughout their country. People travel from all over Europe to visit these well known locations. One of the most visited vineyards in France is the Bandol wine vineyards, which are located in the hills near La Ciotat across from Toulon, facing the Mediterranean Sea. Being one of the oldest vineyards in France, the vineyard supplies some of the most desired wines around. The vineyard is over 2,500 years old and was started by the Romans.

Bandol is known for its strong grape taste made of mourvedre grapes. This type of grape gives the wine body and spice. All of these parts of Bandol make up one of the best red wines in the area.
