.Develop a good relationship with a skilled hairdresser or stylist. If you tire easily of your hairstyles, then a good stylist can help you choose a new one that might be even more flattering to your face. If you're adventurous, give them free reign to do whatever they'd like!
.Try a new styling product. One of the biggest challenges of selecting a new styling product is that not all products (even if they are good) are right for your type of hair. To help pick something most suited to mine I love using Sephora's Beauty Insider Ratings. The ratings are from real customers who have purchased the product and their reviews provide quick insight into the characteristics of the product as well as pertinent info about the user. All you have to do is select the product you are interested in and all reviews will be listed at the bottom of the page.
.Add Shine. Sometimes when hair becomes dull and/or dry, this can make your cut appear lifeless. Try reviving it with a styling product that adds shine. One of the most popular right now is Moroccan Oil, but for a lower price you might try Neutrogena's Healing Shine Serum available at Ulta for less than $7.
.Hair accessories are another great way to change your look without changing your cut. You can use a headband and gel your hair while it's damp to create a smoothed back sleek style.
.Adjust the color of your hair. Curious to see how you'd look as a platinum blonde (if you're not already)? Then check out InStyle magazine's site that allows you to upload your own photo and 'try on' a variety of popular celebrity hair styles. If you are nervous about this step then try a semi-permanent color that is only a few shades darker than your current one.
.Change your tools to change your look. Have you been using the same styling tools for the last ten years? If so you might be pleasantly surprised with the results from something else. Experiment with a flat-iron if you don't already own one.
.Bobby pins can also help you create a different style without sacrificing any length. If your hair is short you can use them in the back to help create the illusion of an upswept longer style.
.Look at old (and new) photos of your hair. Comparing how your style has changed through the years can also help you see what cuts were most flattering.
10. Splurge on a luxury hair care product like a high end shampoo or conditioner. I have some that I received as a gift and I always pull it out when I feel like pampering myself.
