United States of America
Bar Chicago is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays every week of the year. In the summer, Bar Chicago is even open on Wednesdays. Bar Chicago regularly has all kinds of drink specials. Bar Chicago also tends to attract Bachelor and Bachelorette parties. From mud wrestling to midget parades Bar Chicago has a diverse array of events. Most of Bar Chicago's crowd tends to be in their early to mid twenties, with some in their late twenties. Arriving early at Bar Chicago, before 10:30pm, you can usually get in without paying cover, otherwise cover is $5. The staff at Bar Chicago is very friendly and for the most part does a great job. I've never actually witness one fight at Bar Chicago because it tends to attract a bit of a sophisticated classier crowd.
Bar Chicago's dance floor can be a bit too crowded especially late on Friday and Saturday nights. However if you are with your friends, generally if you hang out near a wall on the dance floor you'll be just fine. Attempting to walk through Bar Chicago on a busy night is not recommended unless you don't mind maybe getting some drinks spilled on you. Bar Chicago tends to play a lot of Hip Hop and some of the best dance music. Bar Chicago also has coat check. Free tequila shots at very common at Bar Chicago whether your a guy or a gal. Throughout the night the DJ will announce heading to a bar for a free tequila shot, not a bad deal.
Overall, Bar Chicago is a very important venue in Chicago's nightlife and I highly recommend you check it out at least for a night or two. If you are going there it's smart to arrive early. Visiting Bar Chicago is much easier if you use public transportation. The Clark & Division stop off of Chicago's Red Line train is very close to Bar Chicago. If you don't live near the Red Line, I would recommend a cab. You can also drive to Bar Chicago, however finding free parking might be a bit of a challenge since Bar Chicago is located in a very busy neighborhood. There is plenty of paid parking available also if money isn't an issue.
