Obama was entered the Fransiscus Asisi Elementary School in 1968 for his 1st grade. He just stayed 3 years in this school and continued his study in Percobaan Besuki 04 Elementary School, Jakarta. He stayed 1 year in this school for his 4th grade. In 1972 Obama went back to Hawaii with his mother and sister in law. But his mother loves Indonesia and went back for social activities until 1974. The surprising thing is that Ann Dunham, which is Obama's mother has lived in Candi Baru Semarang (Central Java) which is same area as my home. I live in Candi Lama, beside Candi Baru. Candi Baru is the area in Semarang that is occupied by foreigners.
I was very surprised that an US president candidate ever lived in my country, also his mother ever stayed in my home area. I'm proud about it. I hope some time Obama will visit my country to see his childhood town Jakarta and Semarang, where his mother stayed several years.

Post a Commenti love baraak oabmaaaaaa
You're right. Lolo is Obama's step father and Maya is His step sister. I'm sorry for the mistake. Thank you for your correction.
I read about Senator Obama's childhood days in Indonesia and was impressed with lessons he learned about poverty and government. A nephew lived in Indonesia for many years~not sure where, but Jakarta would be the nearest big city. When he married he returned to the USA and his wife used to explain to me what was going on as she watched the Indonesian TV station via the internet. Thus I enjoyed reading "Dreams from My Father" seeing Indonesia through the child "Barry's" eyes. But one mistake: Lolo was Obama's step-father, married to his mother and Maya is step or 1/2 sister. The first Indonesian word my nephew's wife taught me when she still spoke little English was: terima kasih. It sounded Italian to me and I always misspelled it, but could pronounce it correctly.
