Why I Think Christians should Vote for Barack Obama

As a Christian, I cannot deny the fact that my faith plays a vital role in all aspects of my life. With that said, I also must state that I am definitely not your "run of the mill" conservative Christian, even though I believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible word of God and that Jesus Christ is God incarnate and my personal savior. Now, I will tell you why I think that Christians should vote of Barack Obama. Oh, I love that name. Ok, first, no one knows what Barack Obama is. Is he black; is he white, who cares? It adds to the depth of his character and gives him a cultural and racial perspective that the other candidates will never have.

Now, this picture of Barack Hussein Obama in Muslim garb, oh, my gosh, I love it! You see, as a Christian, I don't want a Christian in office who is going to let his faith rule the office. I know, every Christian out there is calling me a flake, but here's my view. I want a president who believes in the freedom of religion- all religions. I want a president who understands that I have the right to my religious beliefs, just as Joe Schmo down the street has a right to his. Which candidate has shown more diversity in religious freedom than Barack Obama has? And Hillary Clinton trying to play off the Muslim fears really doesn't jive with me. That attitude proves that she is not promoting religious freedom. Believe me, as a Christian I do hold the view that in a perfect world everyone will be saved, but that isn't reality, that isn't the plan, and there is freedom of choice, and that is the true fundamental belief of Christianity. Look in Genesis chapters 1-3; God gave Adam and Eve freedom to choose, and that is the thread that knits America together. If you want to be a Muslim, you have that right. If you want to be homosexual (I told you, I am not the run of the mill Christian) you have that right. I don't believe that people should suffer violence or hatred for exercising their free choice. But, please don't get me started on abortion, that's not free choice. Anyway, as to religious freedom and Barack Obama now everyone wants to know is he a Muslim, is he a Christian. You've got to hand it to him. He is diverse!

Anyway, can you imagine what the terrorists will think if our next president is Barack Hussein Obama? What a message! Only in America will we go from searching for Osama bin Laden, to hanging Saddaam Hussein to electing Barack Hussein Obama. Besides, if you think Americans are confused, just imagine what the Muslim extremists will think- hey, have they been airing that picture on Al Jazeera? Too cool! You may think I am being sarcastic- I'm not. I truly believe that Barack Obama stands for the religious freedom and diversity that makes America the country that it is today. I think having a president who is both black and white and neither, Muslim and Christian or neither, is the perfect representation of our country. We have a huge mess to clean up in the world, and I think that a president who comes just as he is, without the preconceived definitions of both race and religion may be just the man for the job. And hey, if Oprah likes him, then he's good enough for me.

(I don't know what happened with my first comment, computer page just went whacko) Barack Hussein Obama is a Black Liberation Theology believing radical socialist who wants to completely change the entire base makeup of the USA into a Black dominated Socialist Republic with Himself as president for life with total power over Us. He has made great strides to accomplish these goals. IF he is re-elected he will gain more power and we will not have the Great Country we have enjoyed. We will be ruined. Socialism in any form has never succeeded. This attempt will also fail.

Barack Hussein Obama is not a Christian in any aspect of his life. He was raised as a muslim in muslim schools until he was tossed away to his grandparents in Hawaii while his communist mother divorced one very radical abusive horrible man and married another radical muslim radical. HE was a member of Wright's cult in Chicago for 20 years. They don't preach or teach the Gospel Of Jesus Christ. Wright is a Black Liberation Theology teacher who cry's for the blacks to take over the country and be in charge because they believe the white man has been in power too long. This is the main basis for Obama's redistribution theory. Obama doesn't believe in our Constitution, our separate branches of government or that power is supposed to be distributed in Congress and him. Obama believes he has the power to do whatever he likes and does in every chance he can take. How, with illegal appointments the democratic majority refuses to let be knocked down by the GOP. Obama and the dems totally thei

I am amazed at how much ignorance I just read from this article. As a "christian", you claim to believe that the bible is the absolute word of God. What part of the bible says it is ok to murder especially children? Obama is PRO CHOICE, AKA PRO ABORTION. There is no "middle gray area". Someone is either PRO LIFE-GODS WAY OR PRO ABORTION-THE WORLDS WAY! When someone says they are a christian it makes my skin crawl anymore. It does not take any effort to say I believe in Jesus. It is hating sin and living your life as much as you can for God that makes someone a Christ follower. Your brand of "Christianity" does no one, even yourself any good. I too voted for Obama in the primaries BEFORE I came to live for God. After that, I could no longer support a man who I knew did not support Gods views. Matthew 7:23 "....But I will reply, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God's laws.'

christians should pray for who they vote for i believe as a true christian you wont support anyone with an anti christian attitude but we are programmed to select the lesser of 2 evils most of teh time

I bet now your wishing you didn't vote for him. Our economy is in the drain and all Obama is doing is nothing! I think you need to read the Bible alittle more deeply next time. Obama is for abortion and the Bible is not.

Wow, Barack Obama stands in radical opposition to Biblical Christianity. He is the most pro-abortion president this country has ever had, he is pro-homosexual agenda, his policies are anti-marriage as defined by the Bible, and the list goes on.

How can a Christian support this man? Oh yea -- you close the Bible, say it is just a "rough guideline" and then let your personal feelings lead you instead of following God's Holy word.

Sorry, but this is not Christian living at all. The Bible was giving to us by God as a gift to show us how we should live and act. Not as a "rough guideline" to be disposed of when our personal sinful nature disagrees with what it says.

But of course everything I've written here will be viewed as foolishness to the non-Christian. I can only say to you that, when you find yourself in a desperate and hopeless situation cry out to God. He loves you no matter where you are at, and will reach His hand out to you. Follow Him with all your heart, and s

Now the U.S. is damned look who we have elected.

    Hi Foolishness-
I'm a Christian, and think that Barack Obama is doing a great job. Oh, another shallow point that I want to make- after living as a biracial woman in this country- I would have voted for Barack simply because I wanted a black president...lol but besides that, I think he's doing a great job- How I handle the liberality with my Christian views- easy
    I don't believe in homosexuality= I'm not gay
    I don't believe in abortion= I'm not having one
I believe big government is better than starving children and homeless people
I believe big government is better than people dying from lack of medical care-
God is bigger than politics- He has the final say of who gets elected- whether we agree or not-

Your post reminds me a bit of the Pharisees of the day. We know they saw themselves as more enlightened than others, and did not know the truth, but thought they did.
    8) And hey, if Oprah likes him, then he's good enough for me. (You should have started with this, it would have saved people the time of reading it and then seeing foolishness represented as Christianity.

  • FOOLISH -part II6/28/2009

The freedom to choose God's way would have been our only blessing. That thread you speak of is Sin, rampant right now, but I don't believe it's going to knit anyone together for long. God is the only one that knits together or will tear asunder.
    6) now everyone wants to know is he a Muslim, is he a Christian. You've got to hand it to him. He is diverse! (we're calling duplicity & deceit diverseness now...hmmm...)
    7) "We" have a huge mess to clean up in the world... Now friend, I just have to say, it sounds like a lot of pride is coming from you, when you stated that a Christian nor a muslim is perfect representation. No one is perfect, this is true. But only God has the power to do anything, not "we". But I am not going to throw pearls before the feet of swine either. You will have to talk to the Lord about not feeling Christianity is how our country should be represented. Christ hung out with the sinners, yes, the repentant ones who recognized their need for Him.
