Barack Obama and Congress' Idea to Pay for Healthcare Reform with a Tax on so Called "Cadillac Plans"

Does Obama Go Back on His Pledge Not to Raise Taxes on Families Making Less Than $250,000 Per Year?

As many people probably know by now the socialization of American healthcare is under way despite the wishes and desires of many Americans. Polls typically show that only there is more than a 15% margin against the current legislation in congress. Despite this they are still hell bent on passing it even when it passed by razor thin margins in both houses (I am counting the senate as razor thin because of the filibuster). One way they want to pay for it is by "redistributing the wealth" by taxing high dollar healthcare plans. This will catch many people in a net that are flaming supporters of Obama like non-public service union members.

During his campaign for president Barack Obama claimed that if you made less than $200,000 you would not see a tax increase. This could be argued to be true if we are just going by a tax rate, but what is occurring is taxes on things people buy will increase like insurance premiums. There are also taxes that will be placed on businesses like tanning salons that will in turn be passed onto the consumer. As Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina said to Obama "You Lie"!

These Cadillac plans involve many people who many typically vote democrat. With gangster tactics unions like the Teamsters and United Auto Workers often get very good benefits for work that is only worth half of what they get or less. These people often vote Democrat heavily because they protect the Union. If the Republicans are for big business, then the Democrats are big union. Regardless of party, the two examples both show how parties cater to a special interest and not the general best interest of the American people. This also can affect lots of teachers who are usually pretty split on elections. Many like traditional values in schools. You know the days when the students were not committing gang rapes and as much stuff as they do today. Those were the same days we used to have Christmas parties as I recall before the country got so political correct. We have headed more and more on a downward spiral since then. If you want traditional values you will more often find that with Republicans or Blue Dog Democrats. Two of these groups helped to put Obama into office and now people are ticked off. If he makes an exception for unions then it looks like more deals like done for Landrieu and Nelson to buy their votes. This is not good for a President with only 46% approval and really no delivery of hardly any campaign promises, and the few that have been only cater to special interests groups like hate crime laws and the equal pay act. I do think both were good things to do, but there are other things to handle like the economy. This is one of the big problems with the Democrat healthcare plan. It is way too big that they can't figure out a way to pay for it without picking the pockets of good hard working people.

Also if you checked the news lately you will know that some guy from Nigeria tried to blow up a plane on Christmas day with explosives in his underwear. He was on a terrorist watch list and no one noticed in the government. Today there was also a report of someone that was on a NO FLY list boarding a plane in Philadelphia and heading to San Francisco despite being on the list for contagious tuberculosis. A gun dealer also managed to get on a plane with shotgun shells in his pocket. This went right past screening. He actually noticed them and informed the crew and said it was accidental. The reality is none of those should have been done. These should show the idiot of a President that we have that he needs to keep us safe instead of apologizing to the Muslim world for the United States despite the feelings of most Americans. He also needs to quit trying to push a healthcare bill that a majority of Americans, including younger voters that put Obama into office, are strongly against. It is now evident in his poll numbers and public sentiment. I think he needs to try to work on the economy and keeping us safe and hold off on healthcare. It does need to be fixed, but there are other pressing issues for our nation to survive.
