Barack Obama: Dead Man Walking

February 4, 2008. They began plotting the minute they saw him. He wasn't like the others, didn't fit the mold. Who did he think he was trying to run the most powerful country in the world? The assassins would assure that he, too, like the other great ones, had no living legacy. Instead he would only be remembered as what could have been, and a reminder that no matter how intelligent or how qualified you are, there is always the chance that they will want to kill your chances at success. Unlike the other famous assassins, Obama's killers don't lurk behind grassy knolls, hide n theathers or stakeout motel balconies. These villians are much more blatant and bold, yet still manage to be stealth. So sly are these executioners, that they have fooled themselves and don't realize that people like them are the destruction of Barak Obama's chances at becoming the first African American president. Let's meet the assassins.

Members of NNRTV (Negroes Not Registered to Vote)

This faction of clowns has the power to cause the most harm to Obama. As they sit at home on February 5th, carrying out their dastardly plans of doing absolutely nothing, everything they hoped for may come to fruition. In Georgia, the NNRTV is a strong organizaton with more than 600,000 members. The Georgia chapter of NNRTV is so powerful, they have no real concept of their existence. Everyone holds the same rank, every member has the same amount of power. There are no meetings, no conventions, yet NNRTV still have a powerful influence on the outcome of every election.

In 2000, George W Bush beat Al Gore by approximately 300,000 votes in Georgia. In 2004, Bush beat John Kerry by 550,000 votes. Many people blame the hanging chads and Diebold electronic voting machines, but further investigation shows that NNRTV played a much bigger role in Presidential campaigns.

This year, NNRTV may fill an even bigger void in killing Obama's chances. As Obama and Hilary Clinton head down the stretch, their split of the votes could possibly allow John Edwards to gain the Democratic nomination. This scenario would give NNRTV a substantial victory by not only doing away with Obama, but destroying the chances for the first woman to become president.

HOH (Haters of Victory)

The HOHs are not as large as the NNRTV, but they are just as potent. HOHs believe that the status quo means advancement. They believe the current portraits of presidents should always remain as they are and events such as the March on Washington was nothing more than an overblown picnic. People don't love HOHs and as a result, HOHs refuse to love anyone in return.

Even the uninformed voter realizes the significance of Obama's plight and the opportunities the United States has by electing an African American to the highest office. A victory would mean that perhaps some of the blood soaked in the soil has been washed away. The injustices experienced by various races cannot be overturned, but an Obama victory could show that we have turned a corner and the dark days of a storied history are shrinking in the country's rear view mirror. But then again, ask a HOH and he or she will tell you the reflections in the rear view mirror have no relevance to what is on the road ahead.

Members of BNBE (Barack's Not Black Enough)

The final group of hope killers have recently initiated their plots through the sniper scope of media outlets. When Obama gained momentum across diverse demographics, the BNBE sought to kill his chances by installing land mines with the age old tactic of divide and conquer. It's an insidous question, 'Is Barack Black Enough?' Black enough for who? Black folks are not the only people he can't be Black enough for. Therefore, BNBE, bullets are meant for the candidate's most popular supporters. Further looks at the deadly tactic shows the stupidity of the group's plot. Who's Blacker: Bush or Obama? Clinton or Obama? Edwards or Obama? Ron Paul or Obama? Just who does Obama have to be Black enough for? Anyone's who's listened to Obama on Al Sharpton's radio show clearly understands Obama'a ability to turn it on and turn it off. The BNBE members are desperate. They are, after all, the last line of defense to destroy the man, his chances, and his legacy.
