Barack Obama Fan Fatally Bitten by Snake

Unconfirmed Story Circulating

Sheryl Young
A man was walking away from his car when lo and behold, he saw a snake just out on the open sidewalk.
"What in the world is a snake doing here?" he proclaimed.
"Please, mister", the snake reared its head and the man jumped back, "Don't be afraid. I'm lost and I'm cold. Won't you hold me under your coat and help me get warm?"
"I can't", the man said, "I can see your fangs. You'll bite me."
"No I won't", replied the snake. "Why would I hurt you for making me warm?"
"You can't fool me," the man said proudly, "You're clever. I know the story of Adam and Eve."
"Please, I promise not to bite", the snake pleaded.
"Oh, alright". The man tentatively picked up the snake and tucked the slithery animal into the left side of his coat.
Moments later he felt the sharp, dreaded sting dig deep into the flesh over his heart. He started going numb at once - lips tingling, legs faltering.
"Ouch, you bit me!" he cried as he crumbled to his knees.
"Of course I did!" the snake laughed, wriggling his body away from the dying man. "You knew I was a snake. Why would you ever believe me?"

Supposedly*, this man was on his way to hear Barack Obama give a speech. Witnesses say he really knew better than to take someone's words at face value, but in the end he believed the reasoning and decided to go along.

People want change now. They are applauding the person who utters the word "change" most often. Sometimes, people want change so bad they end up not caring what changes it brings.

In biblical days, the original Israelites were ruled by judges. But one day, they decided they wanted a king. The prophet Samuel tried to warn them: "If you have a king, he will end up taxing you more. He will take your best stuff and give it to his own officials. He will force your children into his employ, to make chariots for himself. In the end, you will beg for relief."

Nevertheless, the people shouted, "We want a king!" And Samuel's statements all came true.

You may say, well, this has happened under many presidents. Now we want change.

Hitler promised change, and the people yelled "Hoorah". So, anyone who went against his word ended up having their property confiscated, their children brainwashed, their lives or those of their friends lost, their cities destroyed, and had to beg the world to help relieve them. Germany, once a formidable world power, collapsed.

Castro promised change, and the people yelled "Hoorah". He then proceeded to ruin the economy of Cuba, and took all the riches for himself and his officials. Once a vacationer's paradise, the world standing of Cuba was reduced to a third-world country. Its citizens risk their lives in little boats, begging for help from other countries.

Be sure you know what changes will be coming. Here are some of the changes Barack Obama and his political peers want:

A "Global Poverty Act" (S 2433) that will cost the American people $845 billion dollars. Why doesn't Obama want to concentrate on just helping Americans? In fact, this Act may also threaten U.S. National Sovereignty because it includes a United Nations mandate, the Millennium Declaration Goals. It may be up for a vote as early as THIS COMING WEEK, supported by Nancy Pelosi (D), who - after becoming Speaker of the House - vowed to work on a bipartisan level, but is blocking Republican Senator Mike Pence's Broadcaster Freedom Act from even getting to the floor for consideration (see my article, What is the Fairness Doctrine?).

Social security, amnesty, education, free medical benefits and welfare for illegal aliens. About 1 in 4 people he mentions in the 47 million Americans to whom he wants to give healthcare are illegal aliens (see here).

Apparently, he wants a continuation of dependence on foreign oil, because he is among those against offshore drilling.

In addition, he has had to distance himself from many former close associates like Ludacris (after supporting him just last year), William Ayres, Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Frank Marshall Davis (a communist who mentored Obama in Hawaii, mentioned on page 220 of Obama's "Dreams From My Father" as encouraging Obama to enter U.S. politics) to name a few.

You say McCain had to distance himself from Pastor John Hagee, so don't bring up Wright? McCain didn't sit under the ministry of Hagee before accepting his endorsement, and may not have known what Hagee would say to his congregation. Obama sat under Wright for 20 years. Anyone who sits in the ministry of a Pastor for 20 years, and doesn't know what he stands for, must have attended church far less often than he wants us to know.

When asked what accomplishments they believe makes Barack Obama worthy of being President, how many of his "followers" and "supporters" know those accomplishments? In this MSNBC program with Chris Matthews, Obama supporter and Texas (D) Senator Kirk Watson admits he is unable to name any of Obama's accomplishments.

In this Hannity and Colmes program, a group of supporters was asked to name Obama's accomplishments (hint - 'inspirational' is not an accomplishment. It's a personality trait). Was this a one-time occurrence? Nope - watch this whole other group of Obama supporters.

People, I don't care if you want Obama to be President. That's fine, that's great. Please...just know why you are supporting him!

*The "man and snake" portion of this story is loosely based on an Aesop's Fable, "The Farmer and the Snake" that has circulated for quite some time in various forms and venues. In fact, it comes up every time people are hungry for change and that hunger shows their gullibility.

Samuel's warning to Israel about appointing a king can be found in the 1st Book of Samuel, Chapter 8.

People have been bowing to kings for centuries. I guess because they are too lazy to think.

Sheryl, excellent piece. I normally don't read all the comments but I was intrigued by how this would be received. For your detractors (whom I won't name), I say this, "Is this a joke? Are you serious? Come on, lets get real." (Thanks "Anvil" Joe for providing that bit of levity.) Instead of going to the sources these people quote, go to activote.org or factcheck.org or congressional records via the washingtonpost.com. Anyone who would "attack" your article and then use self serving sources within their argument simply needs to be ignored. Keep up the great work, opinion or otherwise.

Oh thank goodness it's not just me. When are people going to wake up and realize that Obama doesn't actually say anything?

*mutters something about the snake being racist* the title and the intro for this article tricked me into checking it out. I am burned out on politics and and cant muster enough energy to find the truth amongst cliche mud slinging on either side. I commend you for being passionate enough to speak on your views after all that has gone on thus far.

S: Donna P. has it right: our current political miasma is a direct result, among other things, of (1) George W.'s blatant and unchecked usurpation of the Constitutional powers of Congress and the Judiciary and (2) Congressional ineptitude and dysfunction. Interesting Donald P. alludes to "useful idiots" - Marx would be amused. I'm not. I'm afraid for my country, my family, my life. We, as a Nation, as a People, are at the edge of a deep, dark abyss. Read "Election 2008 - It Isn't About Four Years" (Feb 21st). This isn't about Democrats or Republicans, liberals or conservatives - it's about you...and your future. Read "What's Next: The Day After Yesterday" (June 5th). It's up to you: YOU change things and live or give away, unthinkingly, your freedoms, allowing others to "change" things to fit their agenda, and die. M

This piece is extremely well-written and well-reasoned. I could not help but to picture the Pied Piper of Hamelin here. Barack Obama is the Piper, the Piper's song is his promise of change... and Americans are blindly following him when they shouldn't be dazzled by his charisma.
