Barack Obama & Hillary Clinton - How a Brit Has Predicted the Outcome

It May Be Politics but the Market Tells the Story...

Assoc Content
From this side of the Atlantic Ocean US politics can appear strange being focused apparently as much on personalities as it is the parties and policies they put forward.
That said, many Americans will view the British system with some dismay given the old, perhaps outdated, traditions of the British Parliament and the confrontational nature of our parliamentary debates.

So I view with interest the battle between the Democratic front runners for the most powerful job in the World as it seems likely a Democrat victory in 2008 could bring us either a female or black President for the first time in US history. In my opinion, whatever the outcome, this will present a long overdue possibility.

I am a little confused by the US TV output I see here in the UK. With what often appears to me to be heavily biased commentaries, it is difficult sometimes to judge the truth about an individual candidate's popularity and who really is leading who in the polls.

However I've been following a fairly different polling technique lately and I'm impressed by the potential for accuracy. The US is undoubtedly the leading light of the free, capitalist world and, as such, I thought why not let the market show me who is the most popular between two candidates in the run up to votes?

So what market is driven mainly by individual Joe Voters in the US? Well eBay of course!

So the idea I had was simple. Do an all category search on eBay for Hillary Clinton and then again for Barack Obama.

At the time of me writing there was a clear leader between Obama and Clinton and it will be interesting to see how things change over time and how accurate this proves.

I wont tell you the result I got as I think it will be more fun for readers to check these results and monitor the 'eBay popularity choice' for the next Democratic Presidential Candidate!

I personally feel Obama is not the right one for office. What do we truly know about him? We have people voting for him based on his supposedly black color. I am not happy with most of the ones running but I've always been told it's better to have the skunk in the tent urinating out than outside urinating in. Sorry to be negative but if he wins, it will be like letting the snake out of the bag. Things may seem wonderful at first, but look out after things calm down.

I do not got to ebay~like Amazon too much tracking software that slows down my internet experience and invades my privacy. Would have liked to see your results, rather than sent there. I think a clear leader has emerged as people are coming out of the woodwork to vote in the primaries. First time voters (60 year old first time voter???), apathetic old voters, apathetic young voters and Republicans that are crossing party lines, not to vote for Clinton. : >

Hillary has great connection, a great platform, and will be a great president when she wins.

I never got an account. I checked out the auctions and came to the conclusion the only people making money on ebay is ebay. The American government is full of corruption, including the lying Ms. Clinton. Experienced? Learned it from her husband perhaps. Obama does offer hope that we, the people can take back our government. There is also Kucinich and Ron Paul to consider. Whoever wins this is certainly an interesting race.

Hillary would be a bad choice as she's a Washington insider, already has accepted lobbyists money and has already shown more than two faced b.s. policital views. Obama is the guy, though maybe no one can save us from the Bushisms committed over the last 8 years.

Actually I am checking the You Tube channel views, Eventful demands and coming to my own conclusion. It will be nice if we survive GWB's regime and actually have a 2008 election rather then fighting WW 3 or a second Civil War.
