Your Mechanic Agrees with Obama, Citing Savings Up to 12c Per Gallon

This presidential election has often become something of a joke, as John McCain consistently attacks Barack Obama without providing any sort of new information of his own. Fortunately, though, his attacks nearly always fail badly. The latest round involves some comments Barack Obama made about solving our energy crisis. He, almost jokingly, said that inflating your tires would help. He also offered a number of other solutions: but John McCain pretended this was the only thing he said.

Next, McCain is handing out tire gauges, with the label "Obama's energy plan" which he gave to the press. They quickly jumped on this interesting tactic, which has even been called "childish" by some republicans. The reason: Obama was pretty much right.

The say the proof is in the pudding: well I have some proof by the people who know what they're talking about. It just came in the mail, a real testimonial about how properly inflated tires will save you 12 cents per gallon. The suprising thing is that this did not come from Obama's campaign. It did not come from any political group, not from any PAC, not from MoveOn.org, not from anybody who has anything to do with the presidential race.

So who would be backing up Barack Obama this time? (note: Obama was mentioned nowhere in this mailer). Meineke! That's right, the oil changing and tire company sent out a marketing mailer asking people to come in, get an oil change, have their tires inflated, and have their air filters changed. They cited specific amounts each item could save you money. The first one was "Maintain proper tire inflation to stay safe on the road and save up to 12 cents per gallon." In the end, Obama was right - keep your tires properly inflated.

  • Mechanics agree that properly inflated tires will help save you cash at the gas pump.
  • You should also keep your oil changed, your air filters clean, and have regular checkups.
I got a marketing mailer from someone not affiliated with politics that backed up Obama's statement, without mentioning Obama nor politics.
