Barack Obama Insulted in New Al Qaida Videotape

In a newly released Al Qaida videotape, Ayman al-Zawahri insults President-elect Barack Obama with demeaning and derogatory racial slurs. Al-Zawahri has long been known as Al Qaida's "No. 2" man to Osama Bin Laden.

In the Al Qaida videotape, Al-Zawahri accuses Barack Obama of having the intentions to be (paraphrased) 'working for the white man'. This is an insult to all black Americans who voted for Obama on the basis that he will do much to raise their profile and well-being in America, and also ironic because so many Americans see Obama as a man who can bring the races together while, hopefully, not catering to any voter base in particular.

According to an MSNBC report on the videotape, Al-Zawahri also accuses Obama of being against Islam and Muslims because Obama has a pro-Israel stance.

There is much irony here: First, because much to-do has been made over Obama's family background being partly Muslim. Next, because many Israelis and pro-Israel Americans fear that the new U.S. administration will make Israel give even more land back to the Palestinians.

Demands on Israel for land with hopes of Middle Eastern peace would be nothing new. President Clinton presided over talks requesting that Israel return land. In 1997, he felt that there would be no peace until the conflict between Israel and specifically Syria were solved.

And President George W. Bush devised the "Road Map for Peace" , which contains requirements for return of land by Israel to the Palestinians in exchange for a vast re-vamping by the Palestinian Authority toward peace. Yasser Arafat responded by appointing the controversial Mahmoud Abbas as his Prime Minister in charge of the dealings.

During Bush's presidency there has been much in-fighting between Israeli parties and governing authorities whether to vacate settlements; many Israelis had to abandon their homes in the Gaza strip. This sacrifice of land and homes did not produce peace; Islamic terrorist organizations have stated they will not stop until Israel is destroyed.

In the Al Qaida videotape, Al-Zawahri is seen only in still photos. This calls into question whether he was actually present for the taping, whether the photos are new, or these are old photos from other times.

Al-Zawahri threatens that if Obama attempts to relocate troops from Iraq to Afghanistan, it will be militarily resisted by Al Qaida forces. And in the videotape he also encourages his people of the Islamic nations to continue attacking America.

In an interview with the Chicago Tribune this past Sunday Nov. 16, President-elect Obama himself stated that transitional periods can be a time of risk for terrorist attacks. The Homeland Security Watch website reports plans to possibly "integrate the existing White House Homeland Security Council within the National Security and Domestic Policy Councils". An Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor would be positioned to oversee homeland security policy functions.
