The special cover will be one of the most limited and highest demanded of modern comics. Publisher Image Comics says they have only printed 1000 copies of the cover and currently have no plans to reprint the work. If they are not already sold out at Wondercon, which is very likely as a day has already passed at the convention as I write this, they will certainly be no where to be found come tomorrow afternoon. The most likely place to find the comic book is of course eBay. The issue of Amazing Spider Man that has Barack Obama on it is currently running for over fifty dollars an issue and it had a much wider release then this issue. So if you want to own this start cover act quickly but expect to pay out the nose.
Larsen's thoughts on the cover are quoted on the website as well, he said, "I had no idea what I was getting into, but the moment I finished the cover I told myself: 'Erik, you just created the greatest comic book cover of all time' and it turns out I was totally right. Lets face it, President Barack Obama punching out Osama Bin Laden with a huge American flag in one hand while Savage Dragon frees Lady Liberty from a Weapon of Mass Destruction is as good as it's ever going to get."
Obviously Erik Larsen believes that his cover will make an impact and that he fully supports Barack Obama and his presidency. There are also plans for Image to send a care package to the President featuring their comics with alternate covers of Obama. Probably the best that if you can get the President to back your comic that is a good start. Hopefully, as a comic book fan, he will appreciate hanging out and talking to a super hero cop in Dragon.
