Barack Obama & the Oil Spill: Is He Handling it Well?

Beauty & Femme
As more oil spills into the ocean, I sit back and wonder if there is anything anyone is going to do about it-assuming that there's something that can be done. Particularly, I wonder if Barack Obama is going to do anything about it.

Barack Obama hasn't done anything about the oil spill except talk about it. He always makes his traditional speech about taking action, but is slow to actually do that.

I was listening to some talk show on the radio, then someone said, "Can you imagine what would have happened if George Bush was the president? They wouldn't let him get away with this."

That comment made me think. If George Bush was the president, and the oil spill happened, would we be harder on him taking action than we are being on Barack Obama?

People are expecting the gas prices to increase because of this spill. But nationwide, the gas prices have dropped. Maybe they'll increase later, who knows. If the gas prices do rise, are we going to get mad at Barack Obama for not doing anything about it?

When the gas prices rose under the Bush administration, people complained about it every day they bought gas. The nation was at its grumpiest moment. But I just don't see democrats getting as angry with Barack Obama as they did with Bush.

Of course, the democrats won't be happy if the prices rose, but I don't think that they will be nearly as upset as they would be had Obama been a white republican.

Honestly, I don't know what it is people expect him to do, but he needs to do more than talk if he wants people turn on him if the gas prices rise.

No one blames this President because he is their "anointed" one as a talk show host so aptly describes. Locally every Saturday some people get out and protest the iraq war and use to bash Bush on their signs all the time. Hypocritically, they do not mention Obama in their diatribe...just bring the troops home. Obama gets a "free pass" card on practically everything instead of being held accountable.

I'm not sure what you really expect Barack Obama to do about this, is the real question. Everyone says that he has just talked about it, but no one talks about what a President should do in this situation.
