Barack Obama Says "Yes, We Can"

Jack Oceano
Yesterday I was forwarded a video by my friends at MoveOn.org. And after watching it several times, I decided to share it with you, my friends at Associated Content. Regardless of your politics and who you are voting for this primary season, I hope that this video will move you as much as it moved me.

Hundreds of thousands of people have already viewed this video on YouTube. It was made independent of the Obama campaign, by director Jesse Dylan (Bob Dylan's son) and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.

Barack Obama in recent months has shown this nation that we can indeed hope, that the United States of America need not continue down the terrible path it's on, thanks to the most recent Bush Administration. We can repair our relations around the world and show them that our policies of old will not continue.

I myself have often doubted. Not in this country's abilities, but in our population's willingness to move forward. The Obama movement has given me hope. Hope that we'll move away from the disastrous policies of the past, hope that we'll move away from the politics of fear, the politics of greed and self-interest. Hope that we'll move away from divisive politics, and that the two Americas will become one.

As much of our nation still doubts, Barack Obama says, "Yes, we can."

Watch this magnificent, moving video here: "YES, WE CAN."

I wouldn't put too much trust in his abilities. However, I'm even beginning to love the idea of this guy in office, since he won't carry too many skeletons and favors with him, and some 'good' things may actually get done a la his admin. Danke on the vid. ck'ing it out now.

You Tube has changed the way elections have been done in the past. I have been amazed at user's creativity with splicing old TV clips or images, with new ones~sometimes funny, sometimes sad, mixing in music to paint a picture. Obama has had a lot of songs made for him, starting with the Obama girl, Jin (Chinese rapper) and moving on to C&W, hip hop speeches, Latin-African beat music, Trinidad flavor (I liked that one Ramotingo, I think the YT user is), junior high school guitar player and Mariarchi done in Spanish. I did not know why the subtitles lyrics were Spanish, since it was song in that language, why not English.

This is one nail biter of an election so far....

Many comments ago, I noted that Obama was ahead in the polls. As of this writing, at 3 am or so, things have shifted again, so it'll be interesting to see the final outcome. Intriguing election!

I get Move-On videos all the time, also. I was not aware that they would "allow" it to be reprinted in another forum. Are you making phone calls (with your computer) like I am, on Super Tuesday?

Good piece, Jack...and I share your sense of hope, be it Obama or Hillary....I think that they may eventually still end up on the same ticket....and I think they can bring two Americas together. There are three, though...the left and the middle will unite to alienate and make far less important the disastrous far right...
